First week when I got to Chiang Mai, a friend asked if any of us wanted to go for a pool party at the Cocoon. There would be ice bath and all. I unfortunately didn't join. A few hours later, a friend came back and was all excited about how big the ice cubes in the ice bath were. I mean, that was the first thing he was talking about so I was not really sure if there were some other exciting things going on around.

The Cocoon, here we come!

A week later, here comes another event so I gathered a few friends to come together and check out the place, the Cocoon, Yoga retreat center / health and wellness center. A place hidden really in a middle of nowhere. Beautiful nature all around. Totally perfect for yoga, art and health, meditation, body work, and all things you could imagine that would be good in the nature.

What we went to was this special event held there at the Cocoon. Vegan food, vegan chocolate, and music. Almost like a chill hippie party or that sort of stuff. Pretty chill.

The Cocoon facilities

There are a few main things here. They're open as resort as well. I see a few cool room in form of the hobbit home.. real cool! Then there are 3 areas that you can relax, salt water swimming pool, ice bath (not so big but not too shabby), and this one is my favorite, the steam room. Also in form of the hobbit home! There are a person responsive for filling more herbs and control the temperature so it's really nice.

I love to just get into the sauna, cool down in the pool before dipping into the ice bath. We were all doing that for hours. Felt real nice. Next thing we knew, we got hella tired from all the sweating and temperature adjustment.

After a bit, since there's the event held on the day we went, there're also DJs playing music and have people dancing by the pool. It's the whole different vibes. There are relaxation and energy as a good combination.

Second time we were at the cocoon, there's also this thing call "sound bath". This is one of the things I found most interesting as I really never heard of it.

Food at the Cocoon

They offer food and drinks as well. Most of the drinks, besides beer, you get it, all sort of kombuchas, ginger beer and that sort of stuff.

The day we went was nice as they have a few pop-up shops that served vegan food and vegan cacao. A friend ordered vegan tacos. I found it quite interesting. I myself ordered vegan sushi with avocado and tempe (first time I heard about this. also quite interesting if you ask me.)

The cacao with almond milk, I'm not quite sure if it's my cup of tea but it could do the job.

Totally a hidden gem as most of the people I know here don't even know what it is. They're also just open a few months ago so still have to spread the words a lot more. The fact that it's quite a while to get to from town also make it even more effort to get to so..

I quite like it here. It relaxes the body and the mind. I could come here like once a week just to do all this bath routine and somewhat detox the body.

I would also recommend this place to anyone who loves nature, health and wellness stuff. It's peaceful and unique here. Can be a really good experience.

Price: 200THB for normal days. 250THB for sunday because they have an ice bath and when there's an event, could be up to 400THB to 600THB depends on the host and what they have to offer.
