Continuando mi post anterior, (si aún no lo han leído los invito a hacerlo) hoy les contaré un poco sobre lo que fue mi primera gira internacional. Luego de que me cancelaran 4 de ellas, se rompió la mala racha y visitamos Austria para realizar un total de 6 conciertos. ¡Espero lo disfruten!

Continuing my previous post, (if you have not read it yet, I invite you to do it) Today I will talk a little about my first international tour. After 4 of them were canceled, my losing streak ended and we visited Austria for a total of 6 concerts. I hope you enjoy it!

Luego de todo lo que les hable sobre la preparación y el viaje en sí, teníamos nuestro primer ensayo para nuestro concierto en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, (ONU) donde se nos haría un reconocimiento como un modelo que impacta a la prevención del delito y promueve la cultura de paz.

After all the talk about the preparation and the trip itself, we had our first rehearsal for our concert at the United Nations, (UN) where we would be recognized as a model that impacts crime prevention and promotes a culture of peace.

Tuvimos ese primer ensayo para adaptarnos al clima, rodar el repertorio y prepararnos para este importante primer concierto.

We had that first rehearsal to adapt to the weather, test the repertoire and prepare for this important first concert.

El primer concierto fue todo un éxito, junto a nuestro Coro Simón Bolívar" tuvimos un gran reconocimiento del público al interpretar las obras de Beethoven y Mozart, cerrando con nuestra Fuga con Pajarillo de Aldemaro Romero, obra que es como un segundo himno nacional para mi país, Venezuela.

The first concert was successful, along with the Simón Bolívar Choir we had great public recognition when we interpreted the works of Beethoven and Mozart, closing with our Fuga con Pajarillo by Aldemaro Romero, a piece that is like a second anthem in my country, Venezuela.

Así mismo nos preparamos para al día siguiente realizar nuestro segundo concierto en el instituto de Cervantes, donde íbamos a realizar nuestro programa de música de cámara (grupo pequeño de personas) donde cada sección de la orquesta (cuerda, vientos madera y vientos metales) interpretabamos un repertorio. En nuestro caso como sección de vientos madera, interpretabamos obras de Dvorak y Gounod.

We also prepared for the next day to do our second concert at the Cervantes institute, where we were going to perform our chamber music program (small group of people) where each section of the orchestra (string, woodwinds and brass winds) performed a repertoire. In our case as a section of woodwinds, we performed works by Dvorak and Gounod.

A mí en particular me gusta mucho la música de cámara, es un grupo mucho más reducido que una gran orquesta, y todos somos protagonistas. Nuestro concierto fue otro gran éxito, el segundo en esta gran gira. Sin duda lo disfrutamos mucho y quedamos satisfechos con el trabajo realizado.

I particularly like chamber music, it is a much smaller group than a large orchestra, and we are all protagonists. Our concert was another great success, the second on this great tour. We certainly enjoyed it very much and were satisfied with the work done.

Luego de eso realizamos algunos conciertos en la Universidad de Música y Arte de Viena, y una escuela donde muchos niños y profesores músicos asistieron a vernos, este último fue un concierto más íntimo para motivar a esos niños pero no menos importante, al contrario, fue una gran responsabilidad llena de una gran satisfacción.

After that we did some concerts at the Vienna University of Music and Art, and a school where many children and music teachers attended to see us, the latter was a more intimate concert to motivate those children but not least, on the contrary, it was a great responsibility full of great satisfaction.

En dicha escuela interpretaríamos nuestro repertorio de cámara y nuestro repertorio orquestal en un mismo concierto, pero ante el cansancio y estrés de la gira, olvide las partituras de la música de cámara. Esto fue un momento de gran tensión para mí, ya que no tenía manera de obtenerlas y mucho menos quería decirle a mi director que las había olvidado ¡me mataría! Jajaja.

In this school we performed our chamber music repertoire and our orchestral repertoire in the same concert, but due to the fatigue and stress of the tour, I forgot the sheet music for chamber music. This was a moment of great tension for me, since I had no way to obtain them, much less wanted to tell my director that I had forgotten them, he would kill me! Jajaja.

Ante no tener manera de resolver, decidí mantener la calma y confiar en el duro trabajo que habíamos realizado. Entré al escenario con unas partituras de flauta para que el director no notara que las había olvidado y confiando en mí, entré dispuesto a tocar totalmente de memoria.

Having no way to resolve, I decided to remain calm and trust the hard work we had done. I entered the stage with some flute scores so that the director would not notice that I had forgotten them and, trusting me, I entered ready to play completely from memory.

¡Lo logré! Al final obtuvimos un gran resultado y toqué mejor que como lo había hecho con las partituras, esto debido a que al no estar concentrado en el papel, te concentras mucho más en el entorno y te dedicas solamente a hacer y disfrutar la música.

I did it! In the end we obtained a great result and I played better than I had with the scores, this because not being focused on paper, you focus much more on the environment and you only dedicate yourself to making and enjoying music.

Y como pueden ver la música es lo más importante para nosotros en estos viajes, (para eso vamos) pero, ¡no lo es todo! También conocí algunos de los sitios más importantes de la ciudad, entre ellos la sede de la ONU, el "Musikverein" teatro de la prestigiosa Orquesta Filarmónica de Viena (una de las más importantes de todo el mundo), la catedral de San Esteban, y muchos otros lugares.

And as you can see, music is the most important thing for us on these trips, (that's what we go for) but, it's not everything! I also got to know some of the most important sites in the city, including the UN headquarters, the "Musikverein" theater of the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (one of the most important in the world), the St. Stephen's Cathedral, and many other places.

Aunque disfrutamos mucho estos momentos de turismo, a veces solo queremos descansar, estos viajes para representar a tú país son muy exigentes y agotadores, siempre quieres dar el máximo para dejar a tú país en alto y eso te trae un poco de estrés.

Although we enjoy these moments of tourism a lot, sometimes we just want to rest, these trips to represent your country are very demanding and exhausting, you always want to give your best to leave your country high and that brings you a little stress.

Luego de un día de paseo y descanso, nos dirigíamos a Graz, ciudad en el sur de Austria a unas 2 horas en carro de Viena, esto para tocar en la Universidad de Música de Graz, una de las más importantes de la ciudad.

After a day of walking and resting, we headed to Graz, a city in southern Austria, about 2 hours by car from Vienna, this to play at the Graz University of Music, one of the most important in the city.

Luego de esto visitamos la fábrica de instrumentos de Karl Schagerl, marca que utilizan varios de nuestros músicos de viento metal y que también es utilizada por grandes solistas de las orquestas mas prestigiosas del mundo

After this we visited the Karl Schagerl instrument factory, a brand used by several of our brass musicians and which is also used by great soloists from the most prestigious orchestras in the world.

En ella vimos como se realizaban algunos instrumentos como trompetas y trombones y nuestros músicos pudieron probar varios de ellos.

In this we saw how some instruments such as trumpets and trombones were made and our musicians were able to try several of them.

Luego de ir al hotel a descansar, solo nos faltaba un concierto, pero este para mí era el más importante ya que sería una misa para nuestro recién fallecido maestro José Antonio Abreu quien gracias a su trabajo, su esfuerzo y su magnífica creación cada uno de nosotros tuvo la oportunidad de ser músicos con el simple costo de desear serlo. Todos coincidíamos en ese eterno agradecimiento y compromiso con nuestro maestro y volvíamos a Viena a realizar este importante y último concierto de la Gira.

After going to the hotel to rest, it was just one concert left, but this one for me was the most important since it would be a mass in honor of our recently deceased maestro José Antonio Abreu who, thanks to his work, his effort and his magnificent creation, each of we had the opportunity to be musicians at the simple cost of wishing to be. We all agreed on that eternal gratitude and commitment to our teacher and we returned to Vienna to perform this important and last concert of the Tour.

Llegamos a la Iglesia de San Pedro, todas las iglesias de este país y de la mayoría de Europa son impresionantes, están llenas de pequeños detalles simplemente increíbles.

We arrived at the Church of San Pedro, all the churches in this country and in most of Europe are impressive, they are full of little details just incredible.
