Durante muchos años tuvimos en casa donde vivía con mis papás una mesita con las patas pintadas de un beige un tanto triste y el tope era de fórmica gris, que aunque era muy cómoda para algunas actividades culinarias, después que mis papás ya no seguían conmigo en éste plano, quise darle un aire nuevo y ajustarla más a mi gusto personal y que combinara con otro hermoso mueble que tengo en la cocina, quise darle una segunda oportunidad.

_{For many years we had at home where I lived with my parents a little table with legs painted in a sad beige and the top was made of gray formica, although it was very comfortable for some culinary activities, after my parents were no longer with me in this plane, I wanted to give it a new look and adjust it more to my personal taste and to combine it with another beautiful piece of furniture that I have in the kitchen, I wanted to give it a second chance..}

La mesita tenía mucho potencial y yo estaba segura que quedaría linda. Con mucho cuidado le retiré su borde de metal (que me encanta) y me dediqué a despegar la fórmica, tarea nada fácil pero no imposible. Con la ayuda de varias herramientas lo logré.

_{The table had a lot of potential and I was sure it would look great. I carefully removed the metal edge (which I love) and started to peel off the formica, not an easy task but not impossible. With the help of several tools I did it.}

Ya desprendida toda la fórmica la lijé, primero manualmente, y luego me ayudé un poco con una lijadora eléctrica.

_{Once all the formica was removed, I sanded it, first manually, and then I helped myself a little with an electric sander.}

Antes de continuar con la parte superior le dí la vuelta, le puse dos listones de madera de forma atravesada para darle un poco más de firmesa a la mesa y luego de lijar sus patas y la parte inferior, la pinté de blanco.

_{Before continuing with the top, I turned it upside down, put two wooden strips across it to give the table a little more firmness and after sanding the legs and the bottom, I painted it white.}

Una vez seca la volteé, le puse un tinte para madera y luego un par de manos de barniz, le puse su borde metálico y la coloqué en su lugar.
Ahora tengo una hermosa mesa que combina perfectamente en mi cocina.

_{Once it was dry I flipped it over, applied a wood stain and then a couple of coats of varnish, attached its metal edge and set it in place.
I now have a beautiful table that blends perfectly in my kitchen.}

Pero lo más importante, a mi nieta le encanta dibujar en ella y yo estoy feliz con el resultado final.

_{But most importantly, my granddaughter loves to draw on it and I am happy with the end result.}

Fue una bonita manera de reciclar mi vieja mesita donde compartimos muchas comidas en familia y tuvimos gratas tertulias.
