F.R.I.E.N.D.S. || Over Humps & Bumps

It's been over a year. We had a falling out (wouldn't be the first time) and then the pandemic kicked in. We messaged each other gingerly a couple of times during, casual "how are you?'s". Then towards the end of 2020, she reached out and said it as is. "Let's get past this," and we did.

We planned a couple of meet-ups after, but with restrictions and just-incase self-quarantines, it finally happened last night. Met at 7 pm and though the plans were for me to leave before midnight, I stayed till 4 am. So much catching up, I came home and realised I didn't take any pictures. And so, I am using some old pictures from the beginning of our friendship.

It all began in the mid-90s when I was looking for a housemate. Let's say the rest is history, but I won't.

We stayed together until the lease of the house was up and then went our separate ways as in living arrangements but continued to meet up every now and then. Every now and then meaning, if we were lucky once a year because we were so busy with life. Though in the last 10 years, the meet-ups have been more frequent.

❣️In the almost 3 decades we have known each other, she became the Godmother of all four kids. It was supposed to be for only the girl, but by default, the title spilt over to the rest.
❣️We've tried a small-time soft-furnishing business together.
❣️We have been to many self-help workshops together- she's the encourager, I am the reluctant follower who comes out on the other side appreciative of her not giving up on me.

So many memories between us, and we'll make more for this is a friendship that will get over the humps and curve-balls life presents.
