Junk Food For Back To Uni

in GEMS3 years ago

The girl is getting ready to go back to University and so we went out to get her some stationary. She will be quarantined (two to a room) for ten days before they are allowed back in the dorm. Even as I am writing this, she's told they will arrange a bus-trip to the dorm, so they can collect stuff they need for the 10 days, like their pillow, some clothes and other necessities. So plans are being made, and changed, accordingly and we are not sure what to expect.

When they had announced the lockdown in October, they were given instructions to leave the Uni by noon the next day, or stay till the next announcement. So the kids who wanted to get out, just made quick arrangements for home before the gates were closed. Good thing too, because it's been almost 6 months since. She goes back on Tuesday.

On our way out after the stationary shopping, we were allured to a temporary junkfood station just outside. On the pretext that she could have some of these on standby for when hunger strikes incase they are not allowed out to get food as and when, we went for it.

I have not seen this flavour before. So, of course, we had to try it. It was a little expensive at RM22.90. But don't think this will make it to the University, the youngest has already ripped the box and is now eating cereal for dinner.

Oreo's are always welcome. If the kids are not nibbling on them, then it's Oreo Mug Cake. 4 for RM11.
Oh, and talking about Oreo's, can I just say that the Oreo Ice Cream is my current favourite. It is so yummmmzzzzz.

Wafers at RM1 a pack, seemed like a good one to stock up. The cheese flavour is the best, bought 10 of those, and the other flavours are just to test.

This brought back memories for my daughter. Something she used to eat in her primary school canteen (isn't that so cute, not even 20 and nostalgia? Wait, till she gets to my age haha). Bought a box of 24 for RM11.90.

This traditional Malaysian biscuit is crumbly with sticky, sweet filling made of malt. The price RM12.90. This is one of my favourites, so I am keeping a couple for myself.

There were plenty more, but we didn't want to get carried away. So, this is it for today. Let's see what other things we'll stock up with our last minute shopping for her tomorrow.

Till next time, Carpe Diem!
