Este fue de las primeras coas que hablé al iniciarme en el mundo del bloggin y la Blockchain, pero creo que nunca lo traje de forma tan general y concreta a HIVE, tampoco tuvo la recepción que cabría esperar, sin embargo, me gustaría tomarme el atrevimiento de resubirlo porque el que las personas conozcan cada vez más acerca de esta disciplina es algo que me hace bastante ilusión, tampoco lo subí en otro idioma que no fuese español y creo que podría llegar a más personas en ambos idiomas y por esta y muchas razones lo traigo de vuelta, principalmente para que quien no lo conoce lo haga y quizás conecte con alguien y le pueda interesar y hasta apasionar.

Me gustaría contarles un poco de la dinámica del deporte, sus reglas y en que consiste para que lo conozcas mejor, quizás solo como cultura general, quizás hayas oído hablar de él y te interese saber más, quien sabe tal vez hasta te animes a jugarlo algún día lo cual para mí y para quienes practicamos y participamos de esta gran actividad seria increíblemente genial y un logro personal. En el post ya muy antiguo hablé de manera más personal de este deporte. Nunca fui bueno con los deportes, a veces jugaba fútbol con mis amigos cuando ellos no tenían con quien más jugar, pero la actividad física y yo no nos llevamos bien jamás, no era bueno, ni fuerte, ni rápido, me cansaba con rapidez y siempre era objeto de burla por ello, básicamente era la última opción a la hora de firmar un equipo para alguna actividad que implicará deportes, todo cambio cuando conocí el footbag, primero en su modalidad callejera mejor conocida en mi país Venezuela como "Fuchi" o "Fuchiball".

Mundialmente es conocido como hacky sack y más tarde en su modalidad de malla o Net, esta última modalidad es la que le da el nombre al deporte, Footbag.Net. El juego tardó muy poco en enamorarme y cambio muchas cosas para mí, no solo mejoró mucho mi condición física, también me dio a conocer a mucha gente increíble y más importante, me hizo darme cuenta que si te propones ser bueno en algo puedes lograrlo y que el talento solo es un 10% del camino. Dicho todo esto quiero hablarles ya ahora si del deporte como tal.

In the very old post I talked about this sport in a more personal way. I was never good at sports, sometimes I played soccer with my friends when they had no one else to play with, but physical activity and I never got along well, I was not good, not strong, not fast, I got tired quickly and I was always teased for it, basically I was the last option when signing a team for any activity involving sports, everything changed when I met the footbag, first in its street mode better known in my country Venezuela as "Fuchi" or "Fuchiball".

Worldwide it is known as hacky sack and later on in its mesh or Net modality, this last modality is the one that gives the name to the sport, Footbag.Net. The game took very little time to make me fall in love and changed many things for me, it not only improved my physical condition, it also introduced me to many amazing people and more importantly, it made me realize that if you set your mind to be good at something you can achieve it and that talent is only 10% of the way. Having said all this I want to talk to you now about the sport as such.

Es un deporte de bajo impacto, es decir sin contacto con el rival; que combina características de otras disciplinas ya existentes como el fútbol, voleibol y el tenis, al igual que en el tenis se puede jugar en singles o dobles. El deporte consiste en patear y mantener en el aire una pelota que puede estar hecha de cuero o cuero sintético, rellena de una pequeña esfera de plomo revestida o rodeada de polietileno, y hacer que esta caiga en la cancha rival, así como impedir que la misma caiga en cacha propia. La cancha de footbag.net comparte medidas similares a la de bádminton. La red o malla debe atravesar la mitad del campo, debe quedar a una medida de 5 pies o 1,50 metros de alto aproximadamente, la cancha debe medir unos 20 pies de ancho (6,10 metros) y 44 pies de largo (13.60 metros), la misma debe estar divida por una línea central que la atraviese a lo largo, la malla deberá estar ubicada en el centro y dividirá la cancha a lo ancho, partiendo el campo en 4 cuadrantes iguales. Estas son las dimensiones oficiales, algunas personas hacen la cacha uno o dos pies más larga o ancha y también colocan la malla uno o dos pies un poco más alta.

The footbag.net court shares similar measurements to the badminton court. The net or mesh should cross the middle of the court, it should be about 5 feet or 1.50 meters high, the court should be about 20 feet wide (6.10 meters) and 44 feet long (13.60 meters), the court should be divided by a central line that crosses it lengthwise, the mesh should be located in the center and will divide the court widthwise, dividing the court into 4 equal quadrants. Las reglas del deporte se han variado y modificado con el transcurrir de los años, sin embargo, hay algunas reglas básicas que mencionaré las cuales han perdurado hasta entonces. Las reglas del footbag están regidas por la IFPA (International Footbag Players Association) y son las que se han mantenido y con las que se juega actualmente alrededor del mundo... bueno de los pocos países y personas que lo juegan. Algunas de estas reglas básicas son las siguientes;

• Los jugadores solo podrán usar los pies para golpear la pelota, defender o atacar. Cualquier contacto superior a las rodillas se considera un contacto ilegal.

• En singles o en juegos de uno contra uno, los jugadores tienen permitido golpear la pelota un máximo de dos veces. Un golpe para defender la cancha o recibir y otro para atacar.

• En Dobles o en partidos de dos contra dos, está permitido un máximo de tres toques por pareja y un solo toque por jugador. Es decir que un mismo jugador no puede golpear la pelota dos veces consecutivas, pero puede recibir un toque de su compañero.

• El servicio o saque se debe realizar detrás de la línea trasera del campo, dicho servicio debe ser enviado de forma diagonal hasta la cancha contraria. Como cada lado de la cancha está dividido en dos partes, del lado derecho se sacarán los puntos pares (2,4,6) y del izquierdo los puntos impares (3,5,7).

• Los jugadores no pueden tocar la malla con ninguna parte del cuerpo mientras la pelota este en juego.

Estas son las reglas básicas del deporte, teniendo conocimiento de ellas podrás iniciar con comodidad en esta hermosa disciplina. Me disculpo de antemano sí parece que son algo engorrosas, pero en realidad son más sencillas de lo que parece.

The rules of the sport have varied and changed over the years, however, there are a few basic rules that I will mention that have endured to this day. The rules of footbag are governed by the IFPA (International Footbag Players Association) and are the ones that have been maintained and are currently played around the world? well of the few countries and people who play it. El footbag es un deporte de competición internacional, todos los años se realiza un mundial o world championships, donde los eventos más populares son la modalidad de malla o Footbag.net y la modalidad de estilo libre o freestyle. El último campeonato mundial fue realizado en Sofía-Bulgaria En diciembre de 2019 se realizaría el Torneo Sudamericano de Footbag.net en Colombia, específicamente en la ciudad de Medellín, al igual que el próximo torneo mundial, los cuales están suspendido hasta nuevo aviso.

Como bien mencione, era así antes de la situación con el covid-19, en estos momentos el mundial de footbag así como todos los demás torneos relacionados están suspendidos hasta nuevo aviso, de igual forma espero que Colombia aun siga fungiendo como sede del próximo mundial puesto a que si la situación pandemia mejora será una gran oportunidad mí de viajar; conocer Colombia y participar en el torneo.

Footbag is an international competitive sport, every year a world championship is held in which the most popular events are footbag.net and freestyle. The last world championship was held in Sofia-Bulgaria. In December 2019 the South American Footbag.net Tournament would be held in Colombia, specifically in the city of Medellin, as well as the next world tournament, both of which are suspended until further notice.

Como en todo deporte, la ropa cómoda como pantalones cortos y camisa deportiva es la mejor opción. Puede que esta parte no parezca importante pero como casi todo deporte, el footbag tiene su calzado predilecto para jugar, aunque no lo parezca, la pelota con la que se juega footbag.net es muy dura y fácilmente podría lastimarte los pies o tobillos y hacerte pasar un rato poco agradable. Es recomendable un calzado de superficies internas y externas planas, que tenga una suela que no resbale, de ser posible que proteja tus tobillos y sean ligeros. Aquí te dejo algunos ejemplos de calzados popularmente usados para el deporte;

This part may not seem important but like almost every sport, footbag has its favorite footwear to play, although it may not seem so, the ball with which footbag.net is played is very hard and could easily hurt your feet or ankles and make you have an unpleasant time. It is advisable to wear footwear with flat internal and external surfaces, with a non-slip sole, if possible that protects your ankles and is lightweight. El Footbag nace en la ciudad de Oregon, Estados Unidos en el año 72 y se popularizó en el año 75 tras la muerte de su creador, Mike Marshall quien tomó prestada la idea de antiguos deportes nativo americanos y de otras influencias asiáticas donde se pateaba una pequeña bolsa de cuero hecha con pequeñas piedras, dientes y cuero de animales y mantenerla en el aire en un círculo como método para mejorar la coordinador un ejemplo de esto sería el kemari, antiguo deporte chino que data de los años 2500 antes de Cristo por el emperador Hwang Ti. Mike tuvo la idea de llenar un pequeño saco de tela con fréjoles y hacer malabares utilizando las manos y los pies, posteriormente inventaría un juego de rueda que consistía en mantener en el aire dicho saco de fréjoles y evitar que caiga al suelo, años después se le conocería como Hacky Sack a dicha actividad.

Ya transcurrida la década de los 80 el deporte se hizo muy popular en Estados Unidos y pocos años más tarde en Europa siendo el Net una de las modalidades más populares, se establecieron reglas y competiciones oficiales, y paso a llamarse Footbag, para otorgarle un carácter competitivo, en el 84 se disputó el primer campeonato europeo de footbag.net.

Este deporte, aunque poco conocido de nombre es popular mundialmente, siendo Estados Unidos y Europa los continentes en donde más se ejerce a manera de competición dicha actividad, en países suramericanos como en Venezuela, Colombia, Brasil y Argentina es un deporte medianamente conocido, siendo la modalidad recreativa de rueda la más predominante, es considerado como un deporte de plaza. En el país hermano de Colombia es donde más se practica la modalidad de Footbag.Net, y creo que es la comunidad de jugadores más grande del continente suramericano en la actualidad, en mi país natal Venezuela también se practica esta modalidad que le da nombre al deporte existiendo algunos clubes y lugares donde puedes practicar y aventurarte en esta disciplina.

El footbag.net no es un deporte muy popular en este mi país, cuando estamos entrenando a mucha gente le llama la atención, pregunta cómo se llama, de donde es, si hacen competencias, aunque la realidad es que las personas no se animan a intentar practicarlo, la verdad es que tiene cierto grado de dificultad, se necesita mucha técnica, destreza y precisión, pero la practica hace al maestro. Me gustaría participar en algún mundial alguna vez en mi vida, muchos lo ven como una forma de pasar el rato, para mí es algo más. Me gustaría que más personas conocieran este deporte y poder llevarlo aún más lejos porque creo que su exigencia lo vale. Quizás ese día llegue, aunque tarde, pero como dicen por ahí; mejor tarde que nunca.

Actualmente debido a la gravedad de la pandemia no he podido jugar ni entrenar como me gustaría, el año pasado jugué en días muy puntuales donde se estaba permitido salir, y con las debidas precauciones que pudimos tomar. Espero que próximamente cuando todo el mal haya pasado y la tormenta amaine poder volver a la cancha, seguir jugando y pasar ratos aún más agradables con mis compañeros.

Currently due to the severity of the pandemic I have not been able to play or train as I would like, last year I played on very specific days where it was allowed to go out, and with the proper precautions we could take. I hope that soon when all the evil has passed and the storm subsides I will be able to return to the court, continue playing and spend even more pleasant moments with my teammates.
