The World’s #1 Dapp Moves To The Hive Blockchain

in GEMS4 years ago (edited)

Dear Hivers,

Two years. That's all it took Splinterlands to rally to the top. Today, it is the number one decentralized application.

And now this infectious game has moved to the Hive blockchain.

Splinterlands has migrated to the Hive chain. It was planned because of the uncertainties involved with the Steem hardfork. The date of migration was June 1st — and now everything has been rolled out almost seamlessly.

To see Splinterlands running officially on this blockchain brings more than smiles. It brings certain takeaways.

From the Medium article, few key takeaways are:

“This is a very important transition for the game and not something we take lightly

“The ideas of decentralization and consensus of blockchain witnesses are important to Splinterlands and its community.”

And finally:

“This move has been favored and highly anticipated by the majority of the Splinterlands player base.”

What does any of these mean?

Something very obvious. With more adoption, you have more users + more volume.

Previously, as per Splinterlands, over 10M games were played. Cards were worth more than $4M. And the players have traded over $1M with each other on the secondary market

Right now, over $119,000 prizes have been awarded to players.

The numbers will continue to grow. Only this time, all the new transactions will happen over the Hive blockchain. Plus, the Telegram and the Discord group has been buzzing with activities.

People are moving away from the Steem blockchain and registering on Hive to continue a seamless gaming experience. They have to switch to the Hive Keychain to continue logging in and signing transactions.

As a speculation, this will only result in more users and a steady increase in volume.

Due to the change, some of the dapp websites are yet to update their data. You can see the drop in users and volume here:

On the other hand, websites like State of the Dapps are already updating their descriptions:

All in all, this move brings nothing but joy to the entire ecosystem. In the last 60 days, we have observed several dapps finding home on Hive. And now, we have the biggest of all here.

Good times are here!

Cheers,
Sid

I see Steem getting down and going to its ruin...

There is very little left to do on steem. All the apps are gone.
