¡Hola! mucho gusto de interactuar con ustedes. Me llamo Susana Báez Castillo, soy Venezolana del Estado Zulia, tengo 57 años y una hija de 23 años. Aunque ya estaba pensando en incursionar en la edición de algún documento virtual (blog, artículos, etc) fue mi hija quien me incentivó y dio la “Patadita” para que diera rienda suelta a mis pensamientos que tiene su génesis en mi infancia y juventud, les cuento:

De niña soñaba con ser Científica, Ingeniera, Química, Oceonógrafa, veía mucho los documentales de Jacques Cousteau, un francés explorador e investigador del mar y formas de vida en el agua; también me gustaba ser actriz, bailarina, modelo, editora y en una etapa frustrante de mi vida, militar y ¡Hasta Monja! yo era muy tímida y mi alter ego sólo se desarrollaba soñando todo eso, aunque algunas cosas las cumplí, como las de bailar y modelar como un hobby en mi etapa de bachillerato.

As a child I dreamed of being a scientist, engineer, chemist, oceanographer, I watched a lot of documentaries of Jacques Cousteau, a French explorer and researcher of the sea and forms of life in the water; I also liked to be an actress, dancer, model, editor and in a frustrating stage of my life, military and even a nun! I was very shy and my alter ego only developed dreaming all that, although some things I accomplished, such as dancing and modeling as a hobby in my high school stage.

La vida me puso en una situación familiar donde decidí mudarme a la capital del país, Caracas, para estudiar y trabajar al mismo tiempo, de manera que podría ayudar a mi familia y costear mis estudios. Así que tuve que emigrar y escoger una carrera que me permitiera hacer las dos cosas paralelamente, a cambio de no ser Científica de alguna de las Ciencias “Duras” (Química, Biología) como yo las llamo, ya que había que dedicarle mucho tiempo y eran muy absorbentes con el horario, pensé entonces en otras ciencias que me gustaban como: Psicología, Administración, Sociología, siendo ésta última la que me salió como primera opción para ingresar en la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), de manera que estudiar Sociología, Ciencia Social cuyo objetivo es el análisis, explicación y comprensión de los fenómenos sociales que afectan la interacción humana (Grupos), me permitió crecer no sólo como profesional si no como persona, superando algunos rasgos que limitaban mi actuar entre ellos la timidez.

Life put me in a family situation where I decided to move to the capital of the country, Caracas, to study and work at the same time, so I could help my family and pay for my studies. So I had to emigrate and choose a career that would allow me to do both things in parallel, in exchange for not being a Scientist of any of the "Hard" Sciences (Chemistry, Biology) as I call them, since it was necessary to dedicate a lot of time and they were very absorbing with the schedule, I thought then in other sciences that I liked such as: Psychology, Administration, Sociology, the latter being the one that came out as my first choice to enter the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), so that studying Sociology, Social Science whose objective is the analysis, explanation and understanding of social phenomena that affect human interaction (Groups), allowed me to grow not only as a professional if not as a person, overcoming some traits that limited my acting among them shyness.

Por otro lado, cambiar de Ciudad, de una pequeña a una más grande, adaptarme y vivir en la gran Caracas para mí, en esa época, era lo máximo aunado a estudiar en la UCV fue todo un acontecimiento. Por algo le dicen “La Ciudad Universitaria” ya que el estudiante encontraba de todo: academia, cultura, deporte y un excelente ambiente. Tus profesores con mucho respeto compartían ambientes comunes, si los encontrabas en el cafetín eran accesibles, a algunos se les veía conversar muy ameno con sus estudiantes, te topabas en los pasillos con los artistas del momento: Soledad Bravo, Yordano, etc. Disfrutabas de los espectáculos gratuitos en el aula Magna, dónde también se realizaban los actos de grados y... donde fué mi graduación.

Aaayyyyy mi Graduaciiióooonnnn (extiendo las palabras porque es una sensación espectacular, a pesar que ese día hubo protestas y fue toda una odisea entrar a la Universidad) inolvidable. Fueron los mejores años de mi vida la época estudiantil. Más adelante en otro post les hablaré de ellos haciendo una comparación entre los tiempos de antes y los actuales.

On the other hand, changing cities, from a small one to a bigger one, adapting and living in the great Caracas for me, at that time, was the best and studying at the UCV was an event. For a reason they call it "The University City" because the student found everything: academics, culture, sports and an excellent environment. Your professors shared common environments with much respect, if you met them in the cafeteria they were accessible, some of them could be seen chatting very pleasantly with their students, you ran into the artists of the moment in the corridors: Soledad Bravo, Yordano, etc. You enjoyed the free shows in the aula Magna, where the graduation ceremonies were also held and.... where my graduation took place.

Aaayyyyyy my Graduation (I extend the words because it is a spectacular feeling, even though that day there were protests and it was an odyssey to enter the University) unforgettable. Those were the best years of my life, the student years. Later in another post I will talk about them making a comparison between the times before and the current ones.

De Dicha etapa como estudiante me entró la cosquillita por escribir, lo hacía pero en mis cuadernos. De alguna manera la Sociología también te desarrolla el pensar, y había que escribir mucho para fundamentar las respuestas en los exámenes de conocimiento. Los profesores exigían datos, referencias, análisis, descripción, comparación entre hechos o situaciones sociales.
Los docentes decían que los Sociólogos debían ser críticos ante las circunstancias que les tocara investigar y aportar mediante ciertos métodos, herramientas y teorías las soluciones a los mismos.

From that stage as a student I got a little tickle for writing, I did it but in my notebooks. Somehow Sociology also develops your thinking, and you had to write a lot to support your answers in the knowledge exams. The professors demanded data, references, analysis, description, comparison between facts or social situations.
The teachers said that sociologists had to be critical of the circumstances they had to investigate and provide solutions to them by means of certain methods, tools and theories.

De manera que ahora muy oportuna esta pandemia y situación global mundial para iniciar otras de mis tantos sueños: escribir. En primera instancia me permite de cierta manera drenar tanto confinamiento, por otro lado, hablar sobre temas personales y sociales que también por las circunstancias cercanas me han tocado vivir u observar, pero contado con un estilo de cuento
tanto anecdótico como analítico que me permita aportar explicaciones, reflexiones y/o soluciones a las situaciones sociales en cuestión. Hablaré temas como la familia, las relaciones sociales, el trabajo, acontecimientos cotidianos, con cierto orden cronológico o aleatorio dependiendo de lo que sienta o sea oportuno, el objetivo final también es dejar una moraleja o aprendizaje para superar como decía mi profesor de psiconeurolinguistica “Rasgos en desarrollo” (Debilidades) en consecuencia ser mejores seres humanos sobre todo en estos momentos de pandemia que se necesita un mundo armonioso con la naturaleza, solidario, de una mejor interacción humana para la convivencia.

So now this pandemic and global world situation is very timely to start another of my many dreams: writing. In the first instance it allows me in a certain way to drain so much confinement, on the other hand, to talk about personal and social issues that also by the circumstances close to me have had to live or observe, but told with a story style
anecdotal and analytical style that allows me to provide explanations, reflections and / or solutions to the social situations in question. I will talk about topics such as family, social relationships, work, daily events, with a certain chronological or random order depending on what I feel or is appropriate, the ultimate goal is also to leave a moral or learning to overcome as my professor of psychoneurolinguistics said "Traits in development" (Weaknesses) consequently be better human beings especially in these times of pandemic that needs a harmonious world with nature, solidarity, better human interaction for coexistence.
