I am once again hunting for faces - or that is the expressions on them
Why 'Social Lens'?
It is called Social, because I am interested in everything related to humanity, how people live and act, what we do consciously and unconsciously, how we effect the world around us and treat one another.
Lens in this context refers to -- wait for it -- the lens of the camera I will be using to take the pictures of what I am seeing (that at least is pretty obvious...), but it also refers to my viewpoint - everything I watch and see is observed through my eyes. There isn't really a way around that of course, and as long as one is aware of that it shouldn't be much of a problem. After all, life is experienced individually and every point of view can add to the greater whole.
As I have noticed in the past, the streets are a great place for observing the whole range of human expressions. It might now seem like a place where you will find all ranges of the human condition expressed on a whim, but that is exactly what I am observing. Just by standing at one place anchored and shooting at close range, I have seen every emotion before me on a crowded busy street. The camera becomes a vehicle that takes snapshots randomly. By doing so, it is like watching a random number generator haphazardly turning over numbers: if one does that for a long enough time span you will witness all the numbers in existence. And just like that it is with human expression.
People make for such interesting photo subjects and I wonder as you see through your lens whether you ever ponder about their inner thoughts. A face is such an interesting photo subject, some are relaxed and happy while others show sadness, thoughtfulness and even loneliness.
great point! I am trying to keep it more "objective", but maybe I'll explorer that avenue as well :)
face expressions are golden, expecially when taken out of context.
yep :)
These are soooo good! And no masks!
indeed! :)

!PIZZA
thank you! :)) happy to hear that you enjoy them!
Certain expressions are very priceless.
Ive always dreamed of doing this but where I come from, taking pictures of people without their consent is quite risky.
sorry to hear that; I mean it's always a bit of an ambiguity: on the one hand the privacy on the other artistic expression... Here it is legal in public places, but I would always remove pictures if one would not consent to them being published online
It another day for the social lens, and this time, I see that the street is what is found precious on this edition, just as said, looking how people relate on the street completely tells how life is going on in the society.
The street have it all, beautiful people, beautiful days.
