The books you read, the friends and company you keep, your environment have an important part to play in your life as a whole. Your relationship with people that are close to you, be it, your friend, lover, colleague would always have an influence on your life. The influence of such people on your life could be good or bad, positive or negative. It is important to be careful and watchful about your choice of people who you spend time with because the wrong set of individuals can make you lose focus and make your life miserable hindering you from actualizing your goals in life.
You become like those who you spend time with - states the Law of association. This is an eye opener that you have to be mindful of people's influence in your life. A lot of people claim people don't get to influence them easily. That's not totally correct. No one comes into your life without having one form of influence or the other. The effect is always subtle and gradual so you may not realize it quickly. Take it or leave it, the company you keep have a great influence and effect on who you are as an individual.

This is the reason you have to carefully select and decide people you want to stay around based on the kind of life they live. Always flow with the people that have your kind of dream not people who are opposite of what you want for yourself.
Personally, there are some friends that no matter how many times we have issues I try as much as I can to reconcile because I know how much value they add to my life. I'd not want to trade them for anything.
You have to take some moment to reflect on what certain people make you listen to, read, say. What they make you watch and how they have influence on your thoughts.

Learn to be independent and stay away from some type of company. For instance, if you don't like keeping late nights and your friend invites you to night events it's best to stay away from such person, else you'd be a chronic nightgoer. Choose your friends with sense.
