Date night turned blood hunt 🖤🧛🏻‍♀️🩸🧛🏻‍♂️🖤

Last night @flowerbaby and I did something new, we went to our first ballet together. I had been to only one other ballet a few years back, but she had never been to one at all before. The Charleston Ballet were to perform their latest masterpiece titled Dracula: The Seduction. This was something that neither one of us wanted to miss. We both are fans of vampires and true art forms.

We purchased two tickets and dressed in some of our finest attire. The Municipal Auditorium venue was only a few minutes from my place, so it was quite convenient. I kind of knew what to expect, but had never seen professionals do ballet. My only experience with this form of art in the past was young teens showcasing their still maturing talents.

As you can see, @flowerbaby went all out with the spooky vampire theme. Her bat dress was ideal for this occasion. I love how she always knows how to dress so well. It was black for her and she pulled it off in the best way. I thought she was looking so hot and was for sure the best-dressed woman in attendance.

I saw this ballet as the perfect opportunity to pull out my new dragon jacket. I am absolutely in love with the golden shimmer of this amazing oriental jacket. The slight hints of pink and teal make it perfect for me. I received a few compliments on my outfit and felt great about it. I think the two of us were by far the most expressive and fashionable couple to attend Dracula: The Seduction.

We arrived at the ballet promptly just before 7:30 pm. We got a great seat in the second row, with very few people surrounding us. I'd say there were around 100-200 people in attendance. We attended night two of the premiere, on Saturday the 16th.

This October, see the legend of “Dracula” come to life.
Choreographed by Artistic Director Kim Pauley with music by Anthony DiLorenzo, an Emmy award-winning and Grammy-nominated composer based in Seattle, this performance will be an exciting world premiere. Audience members can expect a twisted take on the dark story you have seen and heard before, with music you have never heard before. Complete with vampires, gypsies, bats, and brides of Dracula, this performance will be a spooky start to the Halloween season you will not want to miss. Source

When the ballet began, we were greeted with darkness and some haunting music. I am not exaggerating when I say that the music spoke for itself. This performance did not have any voice included with it, but the story was quite clear nonetheless. The music increased the suspense of each set piece. I caught myself tapping along to the music or dancing with my head multiple times throughout.

The dancers were pretty incredible. Dracula and Miranda were the standout artists, but there were more than just a few who showed some pretty amazing skills. The speed and accuracy of the various movements were shocking. The flexibility and intricacies of each varied flow of movement were something I cannot unsee.

The costumes were another thing that made this Dracula performance unique. I found myself consistently being attracted to the allure of each character's style. I'm not sure how these talented members of The Charleston Ballet managed to show their moves in what appeared to be such restrictive outfits, but they managed to pull it off in a graceful manner.

The several different set designs allowed for a variety of scenes. There were spooky castle areas and vibrant towns that gypsies danced in absolute bliss. Inside of the castle, Dracula and his vampires were at home, while the gypsy regime was at first quite uncomfortable there. I think my favorite part about the various sets was the somewhat transparent cloth that had a beautiful painting on it. When the light shined through and allowed you to catch a glimpse of what the artists were doing, I thought that was pretty brilliant.

The performance lasted just over an hour. There wasn't a moment where @flowerbaby and I were bored. From start to finish, there was something to entertain us. The dancers had such exuberant personalities and were able to communicate without saying a word. I learned to further appreciate the art form that is ballet. I could see that a lot of these people were in really good shape and train non-stop for moments like this. They made everything look so simple, but I know that the truth is far from that. I imagine hundreds of hours of rehearsal were required to put a nail in the coffin of a show like this one.

I am so glad that we decided to attend this event, it was well worth our time and money. @flowerbaby has some of the best ideas. It also just felt really good to have a solid reason to dress up fancy as we did. I would 100% go to another ballet sometime, especially if it were one with such a cool theme like Dracula: The Seduction.

You both look awesomely cute, I really like her stockings and the colors of your suit are beautiful

You are very kind and make I think you make a valid comment. I LOVE what she wore. Perfect for the occasion. This was my first time wearing a suit jacket in years, I must say I like the feeling of looking this good.

I think that you will soon make a little collection and add more to this one

I’ve already got a second one that I’m wearing to a wedding this weekend. Can’t wait to show that one off once I capture some photos at the wedding.

Uuuu fancy! Let me think: blue, green or black will definetely be in the color scheme

Damn… you caught me ☺️

That suit is amazing

Thank you, bro! I was proud as hell of this dragon jacket. I haven't worn a suit in years. Never owned one until recently actually. I have another new one that I will be wearing to a wedding this weekend. Can't wait to see how that looks.

I have never been or seen a ballet. The dance is not common in Nigeria that’s more reason why. But I have seen it well in movies but not certainly real life.

Damn I love your body stature especially with the suit. Not surprised you received complements on them.

Even here, ballet is not very popular. I think it is an underrated art form.

Thank you! The suit fits me perfectly and most certainly is ideal for my style.
