Experiencing a Fire Evacuation from inside!

I can't believe it's been a month since my last video! But. yeah - strange month it's been! hehe

I took this video 2 weeks ago when we were got the word that the evacuation warning had turned into a mandatory evacuation. I wanted to show you THEN what we were experiencing, but... well, over the next few videos I'll try to explain some of the thoughts that were going on in my mind, and why I just "couldn't" yet. Not sure I explain it well, but I try! hahaha

But I'll save that for tomorrow!

For now - I thought many people might want to actually see what it was like, being evacuated from a wildfire. I've been in 3 wildfire evacuations in the 20+ years we've lived in California (see - I didn't say Cali that time, @dandays hehe) and I have to say - this one lasted the longest, but was also the least stressful in some ways. And I'm just so thankful that we go through it in one piece! and once again, God has blessed our family in amazing ways! So super thankful!!!

Hope you and your families are all well!!

Oh ma'am, you sure still look sick and still beautiful 😊 I think you still need to rest more to get you full self back, what do you think?

The damage from the fire is just so much but I'm so thankful it didn't affect lives apart from your skin... Did you say the heat was still felt two minutes after you passed the fire? Those firefighters are amazing!

I'm also happy about the great timing between the Covid issue and the fire, thanks to God indeed.

BTW, help us thank the friend who sheltered you guys through all that... That's very kind of her 😊

I hope you get rid of that sick face soon anyways

well this was from 2 weeks ago. hehehe
i look healthier now LOL

that was when i first took the video as we were evacuating hehehe

but i hope i look a little bit healthier now

and yes!!!!! Remy and I were driving past that fire - and we were talking and then like.. a full minute went by - and she said... "My skin is still hot from that fire!" and I said "me too!!!!" hahahahaha and it took a bit longer for it to fade

it was almost like a sun burn from the heat! Fire is NO joke LOL

Thank God for safety and good health, we're glad to have you back 😊

Welcome back once again ma'am

Eureka!! You know what I mean.

God bless firefighters. Stellar job protecting your property. No idea how many times ashes covered the windshields in Ca (California). 💖 Only transplants say the other one. =}

Glad you guys got in and out safely and everything's looking better.

You said Baldy? Baldy as in one over from Mtn High? You're closer to home than I thought. Without getting too specific like Piñon Hills or Phelan... What county are you in?

Tulare

and i AM a transplant! hahahaha

but my daughter is NOT. and she says Cali! hahahahahahahahahaha
so there! LOLOL

love firefighters! they are amazing.. for real. just amazing. true heroes!

Ah! Ok, I was about five hours off to the south.

Yeah well girls are weird so of course she does.

hehehehe she is weird, juuuuuuuuuuust like her momma! :)

so you are 5 hours north?? hmmmmm sacramentoish?

Misunderstanding. Negative, I was guessing you were south of Mt Baldy in the Piñon Hills area, San Bernardino County. But you're the other way.

That southern part of the state is small to me now. Haven't spent a lot of time in Tulare Co other than driving through it on the 5. You guys have a nice piece of property.

oh - we live and work at a camp :)

its not ours hahaha
we have been living and working at camps for the past 15 years ( one for the last 4, going on 5 - and 10 at the one in San Diego)

yeah i think i was probably closer to San Bernadino when I was in San Diego hehehe

That makes so much more sense now. For some reason I thought you were in San Diego or maybe Imperial Co., I must've misunderstood whenever that was. How neat!

Camps like?? Forestry camps and community service volunteers? Am I asking too many questions?

I am glad you all safe and sound! I think everyone got sick pretty much at the same time, like somebody cranked that sickness button to 11.

Also sick here, but I look much better now! Let's see what happens in the next vid tomorrow (grabs popcorn)à.

oh my gosh!!!! its true!!!! so many people were sick and having all kinds of illnesses at the same time!!! when that happens its crazy!!!

hahahahaha you are so cute, waiting for my video for today with popcorn! LOL

well i hope i look a little better. but i'm wearing a baseball cap hahahaha so maybe still not looking my best ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl

i'm about to upload it soon! and i need to come check out your video cuz i think i saw you have a new song!!!! hehehehe

I am grateful to God for the perfect timing you had to get over your covid situation before you had to evacuate, not even to mention that you all are safe and sound.

Thank you for giving us this update!

It's so nice to have you back again!

thanks! hehehehe i even did another video for today! I'm about to upload it... I guess i'm getting back into the saddle hehehe

His timing really was perfect in more ways that i realize each day!!!

Just more proof that we shouldn't stress about tomorrow.

It's like I heard someone saying some time ago...Why should I stress about it when I serve an almighty God who can change it?

Take it easy, take it calmly, take care, and get back to full recovery!

exactly - you know - one of @biggerjoe's favorite verses is strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. (i think its used in the song Great is Thy Faithfulness too hehehe)

and its like STRENGTH FOR TODAY. hehehe and the HOPE is for tomorrow. so why are we trying to apply that strength to tomorrow when its not even here yet!

there is a reason why His mercies are new every morning! right?

because that's the fresh dose of mercy that we need for THAT day! and it is ENOUGH!

hahahaha you know i'm like - reminding myself of all of this right?? hahahahahahahahaha

so yes yes yes - i 100% agree with you!!!!

We ALL need to be reminded of that!

Stressing about something in the future, thinking about it, cause our body to be subjected to the same stress as if we are already there.

Then, when we arrive at the day we are stressing about and it does turn out to be stressful, then we have the same experience again. So we now have a double dose of that experience.

The fact is though, that 80% of the time, the majority of the things we fear or stress about, don't even happen.

That means that we have caused our own stress that our bodies (and minds) had to deal with, while it was not even necessary...

So, pay attention to @biggerjoe's favorite verse. STRENGTH for today and HOPE for tomorrow...not FEAR...

But you know that already...I'm just reminding myself as well...lol!!

hehehehe exactly.. iron sharpens iron :)

i'm absorbing it all - taking it in - reminding others! hehehehe

so I appreciate you bouncing it all back to me - the more we hear it - the better!!!

Absolutely! Amen!

Wow, that is scary stuff. But looks like was it handled amazingly well. And all is now well!

yes - it's past us... but still moving up beyond us, to the north and east I believe. but we are safe and sound!

and due to the way they protected things.. we HOPE that our area will be fire-free (since lots of fuel burned up in this last fire) for years to come! :)

When I hear you talk about these fire hazards, my heart skips and I become really scared. But then I'm really amazed the way you are so calm about the whole incident.

I'm really grateful to God for keeping you and your family safe through out the incidence. Do have proper rest, I can sense stress in your face.

We love you and we don't want anything bad to happen to you,I do believe that the prayers of your million fans will always keep you safe🙂

hehehe remember that this was 2 weeks ago when I took this video - this was RIGHT after I had finished my bout with covid.

tomorrow's video will show me a bit healthier I think hehehehe

And yes - hahaha I guess when you live in a certain region, some things become a bit more common! LOL like hurricanes in the southeast, or tornadoes in the plains area. I don't like those things! hahahahaha I would rather deal with wildfires and the occasional light earthquake. (thank God I have never lived through a very large one. I've only had several that scared me!)

thank you for loving me Dozie Doz! hehehehe and I don't think I have a million fans yet - but I'll take 20 prayers from people who really love me!!! hehehehehe

sending my love to you 😍

tomorrow's video will show me a bit healthier I think hehehehe

Alright I'll be anticipating for that video.

I never want to get used to any of those hazard, they scare me to the bone marrow.

I really do think you have a million fans, because I alone counts as 100 fans.🙂

Much love Capt'n🥰

hahahahahaha ok!!! well if you're counting that way - then yesssssssss maybe i have a million hhehehehee

and you know what - here is the funny thing. Before I moved to the mountains i was SO terrified of mountain lions and bears. because you have the WORST scenario in your mind - you know? hahaha

but then you live here - and you hardly ever see them. and if you do??? they are RUNNING away from you, scared of you LOLOL

so i think our mind makes things worse than reality LOL

ok so tell me - what is something that happens in your country that is frightening?? Do you have natural disasters?

I'll tell you what scares me hahahaha.. all the Nigerians telling me about the way the kidnappings happen!!! LOLOL ohhhhhh that scares me SO much!!!! but maybe you live there and think... its a rare occurrence??? I don' tknow hhahaha you tell me! LOL

Well now that's A different perspective. And Quite true, probably when I get to live there for sometime it becomes a norm.

You know what really fears me in Nigeria, the thought of waking up one day and I can't afford anything. Because the cost of living here keeps spiking and the income doesn't increase relatively.
Then there is the killings and kidnappings.

yipes... what are they trying to do? who do they think can still afford things when they are overpriced?!?!?!?

it makes no sense - and then they wonder why there are more killings and kidnappings! because people are at the end of their rope!

Hmm looks like every year you go through these fires..
Good to know that you are safe, but you still don't look all that well. That cough is still bothering you.
Take care get some rest.

yes - California always has wildfire season. Sometimes its close - sometimes farther away. But this year was our turn to have it breathing down our necks hehehehe

hopefully now we will be safe for years to come!!!

oh - and this video was RIGHT before the evacuation - so that was like 2 weeks ago... the next video shows me a bit better and less coughing hehehehe

and you!!! you get that rest too - i miss you!

Oh I thought you took the clip two weeks ago and made the video now.
Will check out the next one.

Hehehehe I did ..the evacuation clip was from 2 weeks ago

But the next video was from a few days ago

Even though they are posted just a day apart lol

The sickness was really telling on you back then, thank God for quick recovery.
I have witnessed a fire outbreak somewhere before and I know how fierce it can be, firefighters are true heros, thank God you made it - it's really a scary story!

I have a new appreciation for all that they do! they are amazing :)

i don't know - maybe it takes more time hehehehe

All thanks to God you are getting better from the covid and your family is safe. I guess you would be planning to move to another place with your family. Hopefully, you would get a better place.

This is the first time I am seeing your face. Even when you haven’t recovered fully from the covid, you are still looking good 😊… All will be well!!!

no - hehehe I'm hope now.

We have returned back home and the fires went AROUND our community because the firefighters did such an amazing job defending the structures!!!! :)

and yes - h ahahaha that is my face - but I am looking so sick and pale there LOL

I am looking better on the next video hahahahaha (i think LOL)

but I took that video 2 weeks ago when we were first evacuated - and so the video from yesterday is from just a few days ago. so I look more like that now hahahaha

Fire has such an incredible duality of nature. It is at once a source of immense beauty and an incredibly destructive force. The heat must have been searing, especially for the firemen and women who put themselves on the line to protect the community. I have nothing short of immense admiration and gratitude for frontline workers. You look like you could still do with some rest @dreemsteem. Take it easy and don't push yourself too soon, but you are still radiating warmth and beauty ... a bit of extra warmth by the sounds of things with all those flames in such proximity. Good to have you back though🙏💗Thank goodness your home was protected. Such a beautiful place of serenity. I think I could literally sit and just be for hours out there💗

yes - that video was from RIGHT when we were leaving and I was pale and thinner (i would have kept the thinner hahahaha now im filled RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN lololol) BUT then the very next video was me looking... fuller. hahahahahahaha

and you really could just be out there and enjoying it. someday - maybe :)

thank you for your love - i can feel it :)

You are very welcome... keep being you and remember that we all have a limited number of spoons each day... don't spend them all in one place and manage them carefully so that you still have yourself and the energy to move forwards with 🙏

hehehehe yes! exactly!!!

there is a much cruder word that people are using these days instead of spoons... LOL and even some books and videos that use it too LOL

i like your word - spoons hehehe
