Once you realize that you might realize that some people are going to get lucky by birth, by right place at the right time, by genetics, or other things. In a line or queue someone is always first. What are you going to do about it? Are you going to whine it is not fair and they should not be able to do that? Are you going to demand someone give you the same thing?

Are you going to better yourself and attempt to better your own situation?
The choice is ultimately yours...
I think today far too many people are making the wrong choice in this case.
The classical liberal concept was that people were equal under the law. The ideal of rule of law empowers the people to stand against the ruling class.
The progressive ideal of equity demands different laws for different people. Interestingly "equity" ends up favoring the ruling class that dishes out "equity" to the cost of the people at large.

Well said... luck is really just a combination of preparedness, opportunity and hard work. We can never expect equality of outcomes, but we can work to find the best one for ourselves. 👍
Well some luck is indeed that. If you were born in the United States for example that makes you likely luckier than some people. By luck I am saying POSITIVE outcomes of chance.
It cannot be avoided.
If you and I are standing in the same room and we each can move at the same speed if you pick a destination point in that room one of us is guaranteed to reach that point first unless the point happens to be equidistant from us.
Thus the person that is closer happens to be fortunate, lucky, or in the right place at the right time in that particular instance.
It isn't something to fix. It just is.
Agreed... but with one caveat: even an equidistant opportunity can be won or lost intentionally, when the competitors become aware of the opportunity. Distance can vary, as you rightly point out, but we are capable of gaining or losing ground with preparedness and hard work. So I suppose it's a bit of both.
Yes the equidistant thing is simply a PROOF that there will always be unfairness based upon factors that cannot be chosen and cannot be FIXED and PLANNED for. It is essentially an easy way to disprove the concept of Equality of Outcome. Equity is Equality of Outcome as well so it is a lie. It is an impossibility. We can strive towards Equality of Opportunity but that is very different.
Some are certainly a lot more lucky than others. Life is indeed nor fair and there's nothing we can do about it, it's the normal balance of life.
.I've decided to do what I can to change my situation. The fact that I wasn't lucky enough to be born into a rich home doesn't mean I wouldn't do what I have to do to be successful. I'm that change and I'm ready to make it.

Yep... I lived in some tents, one bedroom trailers, and other trailers most of my childhood. We were never wealthy. I tended to get toys and new things on my Birthday and Christmas and that was it. It did make me value them a lot.
I am now Middle class technically but I am the primary source of income for 7 people now so I don't live like middle class. Though years of living as we did has made it so we can make our money go a lot further than a lot of people.
Wow, that must have been some life. But then you still could look back and remember those days with a smile on your face. They weren't the best but then , they made room for stories like this.

It's wonderful to see that you levelled up and moved up the ladder. Most times I hear people complain about their roots and I wonder how foolish they can become. It wasn't our parents faults that they too weren't born rich. But unlike them we can actually change that situation and everyday I always pray that I get to that stage that my parents never reached and become a better person changing my life as well as the ones around me in the process! ✅❤️
