A Walk Around the Longshaw Estate

in Proof of Brain2 years ago (edited)

We went for a walk on the Longshaw Estate today. It is a lovely part of Derbyshire and is looked after by the National Trust. I have visited Longshaw in different seasons and it never disappoints.

There's lots of walking trails for every ability. I like it as it's nice and flat. It is also a place for lots of photo opportunities.

The pond was iced over so the mallard's slapstick antics were quite funny.

The cold weather didn't put off the local landscape artists painting outside. What a great setting.

You can really enjoy the spectacular views on your way around the estate.

You can also call in the estate café for a well earned coffee and pie.

It looks like you had a very nice walk and made some astonishing photos! I like the one with trees and the American holly photo... That red color looks so great in contrast with the background...
Thanks for sharing!

That first shot is beautiful

Thank you @ackhoo and @qurator. The weather changes very quickly here. It was lovely yesterday but very frosty this morning.

Haha... here, we have very hot.... and then very wet second half of the day!

Thank you very much @elemarg25 and @cccf. 🥰

You can’t beat a great country estate to escape into. Not been to this one but haven’t been to Derbyshire for a few years. Will have to go back up there soon.

I think I've explored my own county more than I ever have because of the numerous lockdowns.

Same here, we now know Hampshire and bits of Berkshire much better!!!

At least that's a positive!
