Have you ever tried black garlic coffee?

Have you heard the name black garlic coffee? For me, black garlic makes a cup of coffee, I have never tried it, but black garlic as a functional food to supplement nutrients for the body, I have used and heard a lot. Black garlic is not a different spice, but only because they ferment white garlic with beer, temperature, and humidity for a certain time to become black garlic. Of course, each person will have different recipes, doses, and incubation times that produce quality garlic and unique flavors. A type of healthy food that is very popular with the Japanese. I also recently discovered a coffee shop located at the crossroads of the main road during a jogging session. I have noticed it and come today to enjoy and feel.

Black garlic coffee is also the name of the store, perhaps because the name of black garlic has brought attention and curiosity to many people already, people here often hear: weasel coffee, egg coffee, salted coffee, coconut coffee,... It is located at 318 Bui Thi Xuan street, Da Lat city - Vietnam. Normally, I would not like this type of space, because it is simply located at a crowded intersection and although I can see and observe the world below and the people in traffic, they also see me in the street. On the other side, I don't like that very much. But I'm curious about this drink so "welcome".

The store consists of three floors and especially each floor will have a separate bartender and the bartender on each floor only serves customers on that floor. The ground floor is not large and has only a few tables and mostly serves as a bar to prepare drinks and sell more of their products. The price is not too expensive, of course I don't drink other popular drinks such as tea, juice,... A cup of black garlic coffee for 45,000 VND ( 2 USD) is moderate.

I chose the top floor because actually I wanted to have a higher view and be able to see the space of the other two floors during the ascent. I got my drink on the top floor, where the bartender was already waiting because I asked your permission to take some pictures. While you were preparing, I asked for some more information. The store's black garlic is not fermented with beer as usual, they have their own yeast with a recipe learned in Japan and brewed longer. Then black garlic is pressed into juice and mixed directly with heated coffee.

Normally I use it with milk but she suggested that I can use sugar instead of milk. As you said, because black garlic has a slight sourness and strong scent, if you use sugar, it will help diners feel the coffee and black garlic taste better. Milk will only overwhelm its characteristic taste. And especially this drink should be used hot and concentrated instead of drinking cold and shaking ice.

I opted for a table near the glass window with the best view below. While the bartender was making my drink, some of the information about the health benefits of this food that I was looking for, in terms of preventing cancer cells is very impressive. I finally had a true black garlic coffee that was continued to be heated by a small candle below. They have sampled a small black garlic bulb so I can taste it and get a good idea of ​​what's inside. If eaten raw, the sour taste is slightly strong, very flexible and the smell is very strange, difficult to describe.

The color of the coffee is so impressive, I call it the color of cockroach wings. This is usually a manifestation of good quality Robusta coffee beans, the roasting process meets the temperature standards to not burn. Some other coffees I occasionally come across are black because some by-products like cornstarch are roasted and added. A type of business that lacks credibility and heart.

Accompanying the coffee is a cup of hot tea. I'm thinking maybe they're not psychologically savvy when it's getting hotter and adding a cup of hot tea wouldn't be appropriate. But I've come to understand that hot drinks have a more balanced effect on the aftertaste after drinking coffee. The owner must be extremely knowledgeable and loves coffee, so he can create a drink experience from small and subtle things. And I really appreciate and enjoy their products sincerely.

Wow, this is a very unique kind of drink. Sometimes when I go to a coffee shop and ask for their best seller I always trust my guts and if the flavor doesn't taste good to me then at least I tried. The top floors are always the best location to enjoy my coffee as I can see the view outside as well as the sky.

Yes it is very unique. However, because they will take the juice of black garlic and mix it with coffee, the taste will be very strong. I think Vietnamese people are used to that intensity, if you want to reduce its intensity, you can reduce the dosage of black coffee and black garlic juice. It will be easier for you to drink.

No! I've never heard of black garlic before, and definitely never thought of combining coffee with garlic. I'm intrigued by it though. That manual coffee maker looks amazing. Perfect for camping and outdoor occasions.

Yeah, it's not that popular here either, maybe they prefer the traditional pure coffee taste. Those who are interested in health and new flavors may be more popular with black garlic coffee.

I bet you enjoy it when the temperature is chilly in Da Lat, now the climate is almost summer hot in tropical cities. It is not necessarily the most suitable for this way of drinking.

This sounds really interesting. I really enjoy coffee with ginger, as well as coffee with cinnamon (and, of course, cinnamon and ginger combined), but I've never even heard of black garlic before. It's also interesting that they supply the coffee with an after-coffee tea.
