Well you already started with a good foot which is a characteristic logo, what you should do is to implement something that people like and that not all coffee shops have, something that makes it stand out and that will be enough to achieve constant customers.

I also wish my friend's coffee shop a success and get regular customers. I am always excited when a friend tries to survive with his business.
I think brewing great coffee by seeking out coffee shop customers is something very different. But with effort, hard work and luck I think anything is possible.
