After Singing!

After singing, there are many kinds of emotions, and these are left by the experience of the moment, the stage, the audience, the repertoire, and other factors that help you connect more or less with a performance. In my particular case, I approach each concert as a unique moment in my life, with a different personality and learning experience. I really like it when concerts are on Sundays; it doesn't feel like a chore because, for me, singing is a job I enjoy so much that I don't feel like I'm singing at all. Although after the concert, some discomforts do arise, like the pain in my feet from spending almost two hours on my feet on stage, and since I'm a choir member, those two hours are usually spent motionless.

Después de cantar hay muchos tipos de emociones, y eso te lo deja la vivencia del momento, el escenario, el público, el repertorio y demás factores que te hacen conectar más o menos con un performance. En mi caso particular, me tomo cada concierto como un momento único en mi vida, con una personalidad y un aprendizaje distinto. Me gusta mucho cuando los conciertos son un día Domingo, no lo siento pesado porque para mí cantar es un trabajo que disfruto tanto que no lo siento como cantar, aunque luego del concierto fluyen algunos males, como el dolor en los pies por pasar casi dos horas de pie en el escenario, y como soy coralista, generalmente esas dos horas son inmóviles.

We rarely finish a concert and go straight home to rest; I think it depends on the magnitude of the event. Sometimes we go out with friends to hang out and share stories, and I rarely go for a walk around the city with my wife. This Sunday, in particular, I did; there was a sublime atmosphere in the streets. How could we not feel that way? We were in Rome, the night was young, and it would be our only Sunday in the city. I think that even though we were tired, the city was calling us...

Pocas veces termina el concierto y nos vamos directamente a casa a descansar, creo que depende de la magnitud del evento que hayamos tenido. A veces salimos con nuestros amigos a pasar el rato y compartir anécdotas y pocas veces me voy a caminar por la ciudad con mi esposa. Este Domingo en particular lo hice, había un ambiente sublime en la calle. ¿Cómo no sentirlo así?, estábamos en Roma, la noche era joven, y sería nuestro único Domingo en esta ciudad. Creo que aunque nos hubiéramos sentido cansados la ciudad nos estaba llamando...

Sunday nights aren't like this in the city where I live, at least not in the areas I frequent. There, the night was alive, people everywhere, all smiling as they strolled through the narrow streets of central Rome. It was truly a special moment for us, and if it weren't for the conversation, we would have almost forgotten we'd just finished singing at the Vatican. In retrospect, it was one of our best Sundays this year, and it filled us with the most sublime emotions... Although the night was long, we had another concert in the morning 😅 So we finished with some delicious gelato at a place where even some famous movie stars have been. I have to tell my wife to share the evidence on her blog 🤣 But famous or not, there's a world map on the wall where visitors mark their place of origin. It was a lovely way to say goodbye to Rome that Sunday and head back to the hotel to recharge for the next day...

Los Domingos en la noche no son así en la ciudad donde vivo, al menos no en las zonas que frecuento. Allá la noche estaba viva, personas por doquier y todos sonriendo mientras pasan el rato en las angostas calles del centro de Roma. Realmente fue un momento especial para nosotros, y si no fuera por las charlas casi ni hubiéramos recordado que veníamos de cantar en el Vaticano. En retrospectiva, ese fue uno de nuestros mejores Domingos de este año, y nos hizo sentir las emociones más sublimes... Aunque la noche era larga, teníamos otro concierto en la mañana 😅 Así que finalizamos con un rico gelato, en un lugar donde incluso han ido algunos famosos del cine, tengo que decirle a mi esposa que comparta las evidencias en su blog 🤣 pero famosos o no, hay un mapamundi donde los visitantes marcan su lugar de origen en la pared. Fue una linda manera de despedirnos de Roma ese Domingo e irnos al hotel a recargar baterías para el día siguiente...
