Oman Mountains are magical and mystical. Over a period of time they grow over you. I remember when I came here new I would never like to see them. They looked so barren and I would always say to people what beauty do you see in these barren mountains. I would any day love to see lush green or ice-clad mountains, but not these barren ones. But then over the years I feel now I am falling in love with them and I enjoy their beauty. Like the 50 shades of grey, they too have different shades of nature to offer.
This mountain range that we visited is known as Jebel Shems. It is also called as the "Grand Canyon of Middle East". Jebel is an Arabic word for range of mountains, Jebel Shams also known as Mountain of Sun is one of the highest mountain of Oman and is specially famous for the view it offers.
I will say this place is a Jewel in the Crown for Oman. While you do not see much greenery around but still the place has the softness and makes you feel warm and comfortable.
During this trip we had decided to stay up in the Mountains overnight. There were pods which were located right at the footfall of small hills with the balconies opening up to the beautiful views.
There is so much beauty in nature that it really leaves us in a awe, wondering how does Nature do all this.
