Twilight

Finally, I took a walk away from home, my city, and even my country. This, of course, is a sign that I've arrived on my long-awaited if slightly delayed, vacation.

Late, almost out of season. A short trip to a Black Sea resort. In Bulgaria! In the town of Balchik, a place where I go more often than to relatives in my home country, Romania. Balchik is a destination I have written about many times and will write about many times because I will never get bored of this place. I hope those who read it don't get bored. I will always try to use fresh images and different information.

Balchik is located in the northeastern part of Bulgaria. It is a small city with a great history and antiquity that goes back to ancient times, and even further, to the Bronze Age. Many archaeological finds in the History Museum prove this.

For me, a vacation in Balchik means relaxing and walking, no sunbathing, and rarely swimming in the sea or pool. Mainly walking. Walking in the morning, at lunch, and in the evening. Now I want to put some photos from this walk. I forgot to mention the photo which is as important as the walk!

First, there is the sea. The Black Sea is so called because it was probably once black (or almost black) but now it is starting to change color, to blue-green. This is because the Mediterranean climate has spread over it. In the future, it might even look like the Mediterranean or the Aegean. Of course, I won't have the joy and pleasure of seeing that!

It's mid-September and few tourists in Balchik. I like it so... I realized that in all the years I've been coming here I've never been on the pier in the photo! I fix this mistake and take the first pictures of the promenade seen from the sea...

This part is called Nomad. A small beach and a big bar...

... and a good restaurant! Two weeks ago you couldn't find a vacant table here, now I don't see anyone at the tables.

The place called Nomad is in the middle of the promenade. You can choose to walk towards the harbor (a small harbor) or towards the main tourist attraction of the city, the Castle of Queen Mary of Romania. I chose the direction to the Castle.

Because the castle was far away and the darkness too close, we made our way back. A good opportunity to take a closer look at the Nomad restaurant. We even saw some clients! Sadly, these pictures showing that the seaside holiday season is over are sad.

In the distance is our favorite hotel. Hotel Samara!

The last consumers are leaving the beach bar!

The walk ends on the hotel balcony, with one last look at the beach. The sea is no longer visible as it is as black as the night!

So ended the first day of the holiday, with the first evening walk. Pleasant tiredness and restful sleep, to the sound of the ever-tiring sea waves. Already these are memories. I already miss the sea!

I'll say it again and again, I've found that my main activity lately is... walking. Like all of you, I love to walk, but only now I have realized that walking has become my main mode of relaxation. Slowly, slowly overtaking the other pleasures I still have

What a different environment there than what is normal. In a way, it is kind of nice, not having to fight to get anywhere or buy anything, especially when dining out. The only drawback is that what you may want may be closed. I will have to say that your pictures are stunning!

I am a huge fan of pictures of piers, water, boats, and anything nautical. I know you know! Anything with the sea! The colors of the setting sun around you and the lights that come on with the darkness. The Nomad Beach Club all lit up.

Great #WednesdayWalk, Dan! @bluemoon I love your posts. You pull me right into it. Thank you!

I miss it and I didn't even go there!

I miss it and I didn't even go there!

Oh, my! That says it all, that's what I should say, "I miss it even though I was there recently!" What's strange is that it's not even as beautiful as it looks but it has an appeal to a certain category of people. A category of people that I can see we both fall into!
Thanks again, @dswigle, for giving me this joy through your comments!

glad you were able to get on a vacation and it looks like a beautiful place to relax and get away from it all

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Right you have written about Balçık several times before. It is not too late to have vacation in this time of the year despite having worsened weather, it has here. I also think to have my long vacation next week.
