Today I wanted to appreciate the beauty that is freshly fallen snow!
Freshly Snowed Walk
Where we live, we finally got a decent little bit of snow! It wasn't anything like a blizzard but with the winter we've had thus far that's been very mild, and rather pleasant I would say, getting some nice cold temperatures and some snow has been a welcome sight for me as well as many around!
Snow is just a fact of life where we are, and although my wife doesn't love it, I enjoy it very much for various reasons. One being that it looks freaking beautiful! Lol
I love seeing the branches of trees and bushes heavy with the fresh powdery stuff! It makes for quite an incredible scenery and one that is very peaceful to walk around in. The extra stuff all around you absorbs quite a bit of sound and it makes it a nice way to enjoy a few minutes of some rather quiet time to yourself, apart from the normal hustle and bustle of life in this area.
One of the things that we've been trying to do is actually clean this area up a little bit. Most of the branches that are laden with the freshly fallen white stuff are this very brutal and invasive weed that's been taking over the area and destroying the trees. It does end up looking rather nice though when it's mixed in with everything else in the snow! Lol
We were walking all around the area to see if we could find any of the critters that like to hide especially when the snow comes like this. There are quite a few rabbits around, as there are anyways, but they do enjoy this type of weather because they can easily hide and get away from predators. We saw some tracks but they led into the wild thicket of bushes back there and decided not to try and follow it to see where it was going, for fear of getting into some crazy thorn bushes or something lol.
I enjoy seeing the thick bush like this though! It helps us remember that this area used to be a wild area and that we did settle on it however Mother Nature is constantly trying to claw it back. It's an ever fought battle that's for sure lol
This area here is my favorite though for the snow! I love the lamps and the picture nowadays looks better than it did last year. Those crazy invasive vines that were in the above pictures were actually overgrowing this area like mad and they thankfully ended up getting a landscaping company to come and clean the junk up so that it wasn't going to destroy the bridge and stuff. It came out well! That tree branch right near the light post there almost got destroyed by the vines but I'm glad it didn't because that's one of my favorite spots, seeing the lamp right next to the tree branch gives me some special vibes I think!

you got a nice coating of snow, we havent had much at all so far just a dusting that quickly melts away or turns to ice,

Thanks! Yeah we got a decent amount. The further north you go the better the snow gets :D. We still have a little bit out back but most of it melted elsewhere.

Today its going to be cold here, when I pickup the grand kids from school today the real fee is apparently going to be around -15 not looking forward to that I must say
Snow is a very beautiful thing, isn't it? Very peaceful. Quiet. Pretty. Here in Delaware we often don't get snow until January and February (and this year, sadly, it looks like we won't even get that). I usually keep my white outdoor lights up and love seeing them glow under a snow just like the one you have here.
Yeah I really enjoy the snow, when it's snowing and there's a decent amount on the ground it's so quiet! It's really nice!
Seeing the snow under the white lights is definitely something else, gives it such a cool look!

I'm both with you and your wife. I prefer it warm over winter, however, freshly fallen snow is just so very pretty! We're still waiting for a decent snow fall. Hmm, or maybe we don't - LOL
