Jonetz by Don Don Donki at Lot 10 || All things from Japan

in Wednesday Walk2 years ago

Not sure whether is it alright to blog on 'Wednesday Walk' on a Thursday. I was too exhausted yesterday and after uploading photos into Esteem, my body was yearning to rest. Thank you, @tattoodjay for this community and opportunity for us to look around other walks of the world.

For this blog, we are going to walk at one of the raves in town, because, literally, when it was first opened last year, everyone went wild and crazy. Suddenly, everyone forgot about the threat of Covid19 and they went 'bursting out of home-jail', willing to queue for hours to enter. The queue was so long, till different floors. THAT WILD.

JONETZ by DON DON DONKI

If you have been to Japan, you would know about Don Don Donki, a successful Japanese retail chain. Although the exact name is Jonetz by Don Don Donki, the popular name would be Don Don Donki, perhaps due to its catchy rhyming. The first ever Don Don Donki was opened during March 2021 at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, Ground Floor, First Floor and Second Floor.

We had been wanting to go last year, but due to Movement Control Restrictions and my own fear towards the virus, we put a stop to our plan. But, recently, I got to have a walk there. It was our anniversary, after we dined at Japanese ramen restaurant at Lot10, we made a visit to Don Don Donki.

Spending our anniversary at Don Don Donki

Let's Exploreeeee....

Don Don Donki, Ground Floor

We were at Ground Floor of Don Don Donki and was told that it was a one-way-route. Ground Floor as you see in the photo on top is where all the cashiers are, meaning this is ONLY for the exit for customers. We were being directed to go up to Second Floor for entrance.

Don Don Donki, Second Floor

The entrance to Don Don Donki at 2nd Floor.

This was where our journey started. The entrance of Don Don Donki at 2nd Floor. We saw a few posters outside on food choices, then only I knew there were food stalls in there too. If we knew earlier, we would have dine here since I felt like going Japanese theme. To our surprise, not only it was our anniversary, it was Don Don Donki anniversary. Mine was 13th anniversary. Don Don Donki was 1st Anniversary.

SECOND FLOOR

Upon entrance, we found out some food stalls, of course all Japanese food. Yum yum yum.

img_0.025627679429373582.jpg

Suddenly, my eyes were wide open. It was like in a brand new world. Soooooo many varieties of stuff, that I would one day make a visit here by myself without husband. I did not like the man to wait while I explored. I saw so many beauty and cosmetic products here.

If you are into beauty, make-up, skin care and cosmetic stuff, you must must must come here. Since Japanese people are famous for their beautiful skin, perhaps I could help myself a little here. Next time, I shall come here by myself.

img_0.4764697706550226.jpg

I noticed alot of people were checking out the item called earth mat. I went and searched about it and it was understood to absorb water in second and dry immediately? Wow, I was so gonna come again. Here, there were shampoo, toothpastes and other cleaning products too, even some kitchen utensils. Even health drink like green tea, brown tea and other special stuff that I did not know what were they.

Walking down to 1st floor.....

img_0.5304592704069142.jpg

And I found out their mascot is a blue penguin. I was thinking the mascot must be some donkey...because throughout the shopping, you could hear the repeated Don Don Donki song playing... Until my brain kept donki donki donkey....😂

FIRST FLOOR

img_0.29146436340286375.jpg

Upon landing on first floor, we were greeted by huge bottles of appla juice followed by the section I loved most — fresh produce. Varieties of vegetables and fruits. If I had all the money, I would buy, buy, buy, and buy. The vegetables and fruits looked so fresh and luring. They had all types of prepacked vegetables also, ready made, already cut and washed, just open and toss into the pan. Well, we understand Japanese have a speedy type of lifestyle, so to sell prepacked shredded cabbages and carrots are important to them. Not to us though, I enjoy shredding vegetables from whole piece.

img_0.49234670783909196.jpg

This floor also has all food stuff like fresh meat, for example waygu beef, yakiniku, all types of beef cuts, and a place my husband loved to explore. And there was a man in charged to cook waygu beef for passer-by to try as they had some promotion on waygu beef.

img_0.7421018280797165.jpg

img_0.32637212665946036.jpg

All sort of sashimi and sushi, as well as cooked food like soba set, okonomiyaki, etc. There were many people here compared to second floor.

img_0.34923029958726015.jpg

Followed by all things salmon snacks, Japanese ramen and sauces.

img_0.3419112614322231.jpg

Then all dessert, directly imported from Japan like cheese cakes, crepes, their ice cream, jelly, etc. My boys would love the dessert section. On behalf of them, and also to have something sweet for anniversary, I grabbed the crepes.

img_0.2597155028785533.jpg

Upon nearing the staircase to go down to ground floor, I found the section I loved too. Coffee and tea. And all sort of drinks like bottled green tea and yogurt. Etc.

img_0.5855813470190743.jpg

img_0.29705445005230696.jpg

I simply grabbed one bottled coffee. Just for trying.

Walking down to ground floor...

GROUND FLOOR

I could literally smell sweetness in the air when approaching ground floor...then, when I saw the section, no wonder the sweetness...

img_0.44740615550609764.jpg

Sweets and candies. Sweet and candies, all sorts.

img_0.41588587915321823.jpg

img_0.017610653730899883.jpg

There were too many snacks, all types of chips and chocolates and biscuits, and junk food. That I didn't even bother to take all the photos. You really needed more time to explore. One section of Kit Kat of all types of flavours. And they have halal ice-cream here too.

img_0.29549589757394634.jpg

And many types of frozen food as well.

img_0.19880466803083774.jpg

If you love snacking on dry food, you will love all the big packs here.
img_0.16791333676703912.jpg

img_0.3450957292512694.jpg

Then, finally, we reached the cashier section. You did not need to worry as there were many cashiers ready for you. Saw a charity box too where you may donate stuff in.

img_0.359885510955642.jpg

img_0.44055573793795244.jpg

So we had done our walk at Don Don Donki, we reached our staycation hotel to enjoy the crepes and coffee we bought. I would love to come here again by myself to explore the second floor of beauty and hair and skin care products.

I haven't been to Japan too but my brother did, and after he shared all the experience, made me wanted to go too. But before that, I shall enjoy Don Don Donki here. I am from Malaysia.
