Wednesday Walk - Visiting the Uritorco Pyramid after an hour's hike. 😃❤️

If there is something that characterized my first trip of the year for my dad's vacation, it was that we walked a lot. Even though he regularly walks around his work, he still wanted to walk a little more on his days off and that's what we did. We both really like the outdoors so we don't hesitate to take advantage of our days in Capilla del Monte to explore as many places as possible on foot. This is how we got to the Uritorco Pyramid, a small monument with a privileged view ❤️.

Wednesday Walk (3).jpg

At the beginning of this hike we were a little worried because it was raining and the sky was generally not looking very good. Some parts of the province of Córdoba have a microclimate, which means that in the same day you can go from humid to hot in a matter of hours, so this encouraged us a bit. We started walking under the water and decided that we would go as far as the rain allowed us: we were definitely not going to stay locked up in the hotel 😅.

I think the storm thing was pure staging because after a while it just turned into a little drizzle. For our first day of walking we chose to walk in the opposite direction of the Cordoba mountains because we preferred to have a sunny day to go to the mountains, so that unstable day we went to the other side. Since this entire area of our country is beautiful, we were still able to have some good landscapes, like the El Cajón Dam that was peeking out from the side of the road ❤️.

On our way we came across the shoe-shaped stone complex, although there wasn't much to do as the commercial part was completely abandoned, but we still stopped for a while to look at the landscape and explore. The good thing is that since we were still close to civilization, our cell phones had a perfect signal and we could see on the map that there was beyond all that. This is how we arrived at a small hostel that invited us to see a pyramid with a panoramic view of the mountains 😀.

Although the main attraction of Capilla del Monte is everything related to UFOs and their mysterious apparitions, another important part of the market is the energetic mystique that this area has. Many people come here with the idea of doing a spiritual retreat or renewing their energies, and for that they sell you any type of alternative therapy, energy stones and everything you need to do healing rituals. This place we arrived at is designed as a meditation site so there are some seats and everything is quiet enough to seriously relax ✨.

As for the pyramid that the map promised us to see, it was a monument made of quartz walls. Apparently at some point it was a place where you could also enter to meditate or pray, but now you could only see it from afar. This pyramid is at a fairly high point in front of the mountains so you can see a lot of the valley from there. In total, it took us an hour to get there (taking out the time we spent walking in the other places), so it was a good option for a short walk to spend the day. Luckily the "rain" was good to us ❤️.

In this same place we could also see a large space delimited with bricks and of course we went to see what it was. It was a place for a "fire ritual", I suppose purifying or something like that. This surprised me quite a bit because in all these places it is forbidden to make fires due to forest fires, but I suppose that in this place they must have it controlled within these walls. In any case, it would be interesting to see how they do it: I like to believe in the destructive and renewing power of fire (speaking of bad energy, of course) 😅.

Almost without realizing it, the best thing about the cloudy day was that it protected us a lot from the sun and heat, so the cool weather allowed us to walk a lot without getting tired. It is always good to get to know new places and walk a bit along the way: exercise never hurts and if you take postcards of a beautiful landscape as a bonus, it is even better ❤️.
