A Wednesday Walk in the Old Town of Tallinn.
We did not use the horse carriage from the top picture. It was only a great object for a photo, but we decided to walk around the Old Town, go on foot.
There is a museum and a photo gallery there now.
We passed the tower and headed to the centre of the Old Town along the stone walls of the ancient fortress.
The name of this street is Pikk Jalg, which can be translated as "Long Leg" because it leads to the same place as the street Lühike Jalg, or "Short Leg", and is much longer. I like these old, historical names.
There are lots of souvenir shops and art galleries in the Old Town. There is an art shop in this pretty yard too.
This old orthodox church looks like a cake beautifully decorated with cream and chocolate, doesn't it?
In the distance, you can see St. Nicholas Church or Niguliste kirik in Estonian. It dates back to the 13th century and was one of the main churches in the ancient Tallinn.
The church was dedicated to St. Nicholas - the patron of the fishermen and sailors. Now, it hosts a museum and is also used as a concert hall. I found in the Net that the Art Museum there focuses on ecclesiastical art from the Middle Ages onward. Sounds interesting! I must visit it next time when I come to Tallinn, but not now, not now... Today we are here for a walk.
The Estonian Parliament building (Riigikogu).
Buildings and towers the Old Tows.
Jaan Kross - an Estonian writer who liked to walk along these streets.
The place of some archeological findings in the Old Town.
The old lutheran church and the new made Cross on the Liberty (Vabaduse) Square.
More churches - orthodox and lutheran.
It is getting dark early inEstonia in the winter, and we decided to return home.

Dear what a wonderful winter wonderland it is and i have to see snow soon hahahah i love snow. Tallinn will be on my wish list and i want to see all you photographed in real time
Happy thursday
Tallinn is beautiful, that's true, and it is worth to see, and snow makes some special atmosphere. But, to be honest, when it is cold and white for five months or longer, it can become very tiring . I dream about warm and sunny days . Or is it just "it is better where we are not"?
A beautiful walk and yes that church does look like a cake I see what you mean
Thanks for joining the Wednesday, its always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks

Yes, dear @tatdt , it is always an event for me to visit Tallinn and take a walk in the historical part of it. Thank you for stopping by.
What a nice and lovely walk:) And the carriage with horses, even though you didn't use it, I agree that it's great for the pic, hehe!
Yes, the carriage looked fantastic, but it was warmer to walk that day than sit in it 🤣. Thank you for stopping by, dear @coquicoin
Oh, that is true - it is tiring to have as long winter as we do. You are lucky to live in warm climate, @sidalim88 . Have a nice day!
