"Out of stock"

in Wednesday Walk2 years ago (edited)

Whether it be groceries, a bit of shopping or anything that falls under the same category, my mind and body will forever try to get it all done without even moving a muscle. Sadly for me, that's not always possible, not around here at least. Sometimes these online services aren't available or they're simply out of stock. So, a short visit to the grocery store is a must, every now and then.

Yet, this time even the grocery stores were facing problems with stock. Something surely has been off lately, prices are high, low stock or absolutely no stock. The news and the people around me are saying that it's all due to market manipulation, it's surely possible. Scenarios like these are nothing new over here in our region actually. Some people will go to extreme lengths just to make a few bucks, even if the process rip offs a few wallets or ends up starving a few people to death.

Luckily, for some of us, we at least have our "backups" to tackle such price hikes and manipulated markets. We somehow survive, while the poor keep on suffering.

Enough with my rant on the recent price hikes and low to no availability of the essential groceries.

Let's get back to some post Eid grocery hunting. I headed out towards the nearest grocery shop, looking to get some of the essential groceries, sadly for me, most of the grocery stores that are close by were all closed. That made my walking session a bit lengthier, and I surely didn't mind it. The weather was nice and cool, the streets were fairly empty, very few cars and not a lot of honking. No better time and place for a walk I'd say, just perfect.

After covering a fair distance, I did end up finding a small little store, which had almost everything I was looking to get.

While getting home I decided to take a rickshaw instead of walking. I surely wasn't planning to walk this far in the first place, so I sure as hell won't be carrying all the groceries that far haha.

I was zooming through the neighborhood after I got on the rickshaw, the rickshaw puller was in some kind of a hurry I guess, I wasn't, but I surely didn't mind a fair bit of pace. Rickshaw rides are always the best around this time of the year, when it's mostly raining all day. And after the downpour is all gone, it leaves behind quite a pleasant earthy smell, and a light cool breeze.

Nothing beats this weather, even our much loved, fairly "wintery" sweater weather would have to put up a proper fight against it, just to see who take the number 1 spot in people's hearts.

While I zoomed through the neighboring areas, I managed to take these shots you see above, you just gotta love Dhaka when it's all calm and quiet. Reminds me of the days when I used to be more outgoing, back then things weren't as congested, not even close.

After a fairly "late night" walk and a decent grocery hunting session, I got back home and ended the day with some homemade pizza. An unhealthy choice of food after a healthy walk, that's how it always goes for me, I just can't resist. But hey, at least it's homemade haha.

That's about it for this week's walk I guess. I sure am hoping to head out there and walk some more, just to share it all here, with you guys.

I'm off to bed for now, be seeing you folks on the next Wednesday Walk post.

Cheers 🥃

That unhealthy word with your homemade pizza left me in a dilemma about which word to use for my outside foods. 😅

Btw those pictures came out too good, loved them.

Mehh, we all have our own views and angles for the word "unhealthy" sometimes we just exaggerate a bit. Even outside food can be "healthy" you just gotta choose the restaurant and food a bit carefully.

Thank youu, it seems like investing in the Pixel actually was a good idea.

Recently, I got some news from a friend of mine who is in the poultry business. After that, it is very hard for me to digest anything made of chicken.

Trust me, I scolded him for sharing them with me. Sometimes staying unknown can be beneficial too.

I've heard quite a lot of concerning stuff about the poultry business too, sadly that's not the only area that's feeding us trash.

Yet, we really don't have much of an option, the only somewhat safe route I see is to go vegan hahaha.

Definitely, I was going to add that but slipped from my mind.

Haha great minds think alike. This thing surely is a killer deal right now, the price took a huge dump just recently. Anyone who waits and gets the Pixel 6 or 6A after the release of the Pixel 7 series, are surely gonna win.

Me no great! 😴
People will start temptation for 7 series then.😛 Getting an old version when the new one is available leaves a khutkhut within me, a fun fact about me.

I'm all about price to performance ratio. After the Pixel 7 release, the Pixel 6 and 6A will surely face a huge boom in sales, if the price keeps on dropping as it is right now that is.

Yeah, that's true.

you just gotta love Dhaka when it's all calm and quiet.

Yeah, that's true.

ended the day with some homemade pizza.

Wow! The pizza looks so Yummy. At first glance, I thought It was brought from a high profile restaurant. Btw, who was the cook Riz bro, you?

Na, na, I can only do a proper omelette and dim bhaaji, that's all. 😂

Most of the time pizza is made by my mother, with my wife helping on the side.

Oh, then, That's ok. As you have your mom and wife then you don't need to do anything.
me: poor no wife! (Btw kidding)😛

You don't need to be rich to get a wifey. 😉
