Wednesday Walk: Spring morning in the Desert Botanical Garden

in Wednesday Walk2 years ago

My favorite place to walk this year is in the Desert Botanical Garden! I go at least twice a week.

Here is another look at the garden on a Wednesday morning in March.

Desert Penstemon

The Desert Penstemon are in bloom all over the garden!

It was gorgeous spring morning! In Arizona spring comes early and the desert garden was beautiful and the plants starting to bloom and the birds singing.

This little dove even let me take its picture.

I have an annual membership and on Wednesday mornings members can go in at 7am, an hour before the general public. I really enjoy going in early and feeling the peace and quiet of the garden and I am not too late to work!

Agave

I am fascinated with agave and all the different colors, shapes, patterns. They are amazing!

A variety of cacti

And look at that light!

A path to one of my favorite statues in the garden

Flowers in bloom

Chihuly

Chihuly is in the garden from December to June. It is so fun to see the glass in all different light.

Thanks for joining me again for a Wednesdays walk in the desert botanical garden.

So beautiful Sara and awesome pictures!
7am without other visitors sounds dreamy!
Of course agave!!! I wonder how your research is going?

Thanks for your comment. It is dreamy.
The pictures are coming along. I need to really sit down and figure out what kind of agave there are out there and then figure out where they are in the garden so I know what time of day to get the best pictures...and learn about them!

Interesting process! I hope you don't have a deadline pressing you and that you can take all the time you need to fully enjoy it!

I do love this park from your posts on it and this post really highlights that it has so much beauty there
The statue and Chiluli pieces are awesome but so nce spring hasn’t sprung here I really love the flowers

That’s awesome with a membership you can get in early and enjoy it in peace and quiet

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Looks like a hostile place in the dead of night. Might stumble and fall into cacti 🤣

I have never thought of as hostile. It will hurt you if you are not careful and walking around in the dark with cactus would not be good!

Is this the one near Scottsdale? It reminds me of the one I visited when I went to ASU.

Yes, it is in Phoenix right by the zoo.

Aha I thought it looked familiar. Love that place, great for birds too.
