Saint Pantaleon's Church

Greetings, friends! On this warm, sunny day I decided to go for a little walk in the Tauride Garden. I wanted to admire the nature, which is waking up after its winter hibernation. From Panteleimon's church to the Tauride Garden is about 2 kilometers. This distance could have been overcome by bus, but in such nice weather it is more pleasant to walk. On the way there were a few more interesting places I hoped to visit.

My way was passing the Friendship Garden on Liteiny prospect. This small garden was decorated with a gazebo, fountain and beautiful trees in the oriental style in 2003, the transformation of the garden was a gift to our city by the 300th anniversary of the twin-city of Shanghai. The Friendship Garden was made similar to the Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai.

There is a sakura tree among the planted trees, and it was the one that attracted me the most this time. The sakura tree usually blooms in early May, and I was hoping to catch the blossoms. But I arrived too early, and the tree was strewn with buds that hadn't had time to bloom.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Anne Ann Annenkirche is pleasingly beautifully renovated and the façade is clean. The interior looks very unusual. A few days ago @qwerrie posted some pictures of the interior and promised to do a big detailed report, I'm looking forward to it, it's very interesting!

I couldn't just walk by and went into the church courtyard. Nearby is a school with beautiful lanterns above the entrance, and in this sunny time they didn't shine, but they cast shadows-which didn't make them any less interesting.

I could choose one of several parallel streets to walk to the park. It seemed to me that it would be most pleasant to walk along the boulevard. Especially since I got a chance to take a picture of the bear along the way.

I don't know what exactly attracted me to this piece of street. There are a lot of similar old buildings with stores in the center of the city. Here are (from left to right): a cafe, a bakery, a fencing sports center.

Finally, I reached the park. On this spring day, many people came to spend time in nature, enjoying a walk and admiring the scenery.

Tauride Garden was laid out at the end of the XVIII century for Prince Grigory Potemkin-Tavrichesky. It was a gift from the Russian Empress Catherine II. It was the first landscape park in St. Petersburg, it was considered the most beautiful in the city and the Empress herself often chose this garden for her walks. Before that time it was a custom to arrange regular gardens, with perfectly straight paths, as if drawn on a drawing board, rather than laid out on the real terrain.

It is very pleasant to walk along the alleys of the Tavrichesky garden, each new curve of the path allows you to see a new section of the beautiful landscape. The river has been transformed into a system of ponds, with pedestrian bridges with openwork lattices spanned over the waterways. Fountains or garden sculptures are located in the center of small glades.

This painting in Urso reminds me of the artists of the Brazilian Northeast. Loved.
And this park, so quiet, seems very pleasant to me for a good afternoon outdoors enjoying the freedom.

That's right, this park is a great place for a good afternoon outdoors. Thank you very much!
