My Painting "The Tree" : A study on the Ghost's of ourselves.

Cressida was always drawn to the moors when she first arrived at the house.
It pulled her out of herself.

The house would sit empty for months then she would remove dustsheets like ghosts of her own past.

Out on the moors sat the tree...waiting. And Cressida would go out, amongst the heather and the chill and feel the tree. She could not look at it straight off.

7mayHive4.jpg
She would first look deep inside herself, a gaze that was not always kind nor truthful.

And she would know SHE was there...by the tree. What she never knew was it her past there by the tree, under it's windswept branches, or was it the past of the house...the moors.

She knew when she'd look SHE would be gone, but she felt her now, as always, none the less.

Yes, Cressida always had to visit the tree when she went Home

I hope you like my little vignette of words accompanying my painting.

The piece was started as a series of sketches then scanned and digitally drawn and inked for a study. This was the final piece in digital oil and oil pastels. I wanted the tones to be almost Happy Spring-like colors to contrast the Foreboding of the piece. That feeling that we've all had when we think we see someone or something out of the corner of our eyes and then we wonder Is it a ghost or simply ourselves in Past or Future

I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you find a moment of your day to indulge in your own passions and remember, when you see 'something' out of the corner of your eye, it might just be yourself in the past or future, don't look to hard.

The Wuthering Heights fanatic in me has always dreamt of living in a remote house, somewhere in the moors, so this is just perfect. Like a continuous, freeing nightmare, for Cressida, but also for the reader. Beautiful (both the art, and the words).

Thank you so much @honeydue and I hope you are well :)
