The Hallway
Oil on canvas

Do you ever wonder how many have cried in anticipation in this place?
Do you ever wonder what happens inside these rooms?
Do you ever wonder where this path takes you?
Will it be a dead end or another room?

Do you ever wonder what lies ahead the hallway?

I think of hallways as a symbol for a process. We always pay attention to the end result, being "there". The path to it most of the times get unnoticed.

It's the most scary part of it all. I mean, you're walking there not knowing what's happening inside these rooms or ahead of you. If you'll get stuck in one room, not being able to move forward forever.

Each rooms are like challenges we have to pass through. Despite of it being scary though, we still move forward. Carrying our past with us... Growing.

Process

I started working on this painting in April, then kinda stopped and continued in August.

Amazing work ! <3

Thank you! I'm glad I went back and finished it hahaha

For sure!!!!! :) <3

This reminds me of The Shining. Not the movie but the book. The book is much more vivid than the movie. If you haven’t read the book I highly recommend it.

I really should read that. Will do that soon. Thanks for the recommendation Azir :D

Do you mind if I write about this painting? I have been thinking about it since I have seen it. It will be my interpretation.... you may not see it the same way...

Aaw, I'm so glad it got stuck in your head (cos it means my painting is effective ehehehe). Sure thing! It would be an honor 😊

Alrighty.. fair warning... you may not like it :) That is not something probably you thought while painting it. I am reading lots a magical realism now, so I am seeing things with that light :)

Go go! :D

It’s your painting... lol... but let me give you a hint. Turn it upside down.... and look at the reflection on the shining floor... just look ... don’t tell me :)

Wow, I loved all the details, I don't know how you did it but it looks very interesting the carbon pencil effect... if you look at the work quickly it looks like it's made with charcoal pencils, but you achieved this effect with paint. I congratulate you.

Oh cool! I haven't looked at it as having the pencil effect but now I see it. They were mostly wet on dry, and the paint were thick and I didn't use linseed oil that much as I don't want it to have the glossy effect. Thank you! :D

Ohh i will try it one day!

Damn this reminded me of Grave Encounters. I love creepy stuff like this. You are crazy talented yo :D

I haven't heard nor seen that movie but holy shit that looks interesting! I wanna watch it LOL. Anything asylum or hospital is always creepy imo hahaha. Thanks Straw!

Yeah lol it's probably one of my favorites

I wish I was cool and could make stuff from my head go to a canvas properly without turning into a pile of shit. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

It wasn't from my head directly or imagination as I have a photo reference that I took as well. But yeah basically my head controls the movements of my hands, so I guess it's true in that case hahaha. Thank you Wes :D

It was worth the wait. I love the result, the lights, the shapes, and of course the pink squiggle so characteristic of you.
I love the concept, it actually takes me to various scenes in my life.
Beautiful job.

Thank you so much! I'm extremely happy with the result as well. A big achievement for me in terms of patience and discipline. I'm glad you liked the concept most especially 😍

This turned out fantastic. Totally wasn't expecting the content or story behind the image. I noticed the wheelchair looks similar to the one you just got! Your hand looked funny because it was giant and the painting looked as real as the hand!

Thank you! Yeah they are like... twins. They will be a perfect pair if that wheelchair will be installed in a literal hospital hallway. :D

For some reason, i thought of that hallway like a corridor in my mind. In my mind i bet they would make that wheelchair into a statue that could not be moved... and thoughts would just have to go around. hahaha I bet this would make a good NFT!

Beautiful piece! Wonderful writeup!

great work man

I like the colour palette and the story behind it!

I went to visit my friend whom I've known since first year of school. She and her boyfriend live in a house that reminds me of hostels or hotels a little bit. It has long hallways with a lot of doors and the apartments just have 1 room in them. While I was walking down their corridor I wondered how creepy it'd be there during a power outage. :D

That looks like something a serial killer might paint......Awesome and dark,I love it :)

You are absolutely right about the questions in your post my dear hidde ..!

This creation is magnificent and it really touched my heart, more and more shows with great works the wonderful artist that you are ..!
