I am The Coffeephant! The Spirit of the Morning! The Aroma in the Room!

Painted with ground Ness coffee in a relatively large quantity of hot water. Not the kind in my cup, actually. On casual A4 printing paper.

I received some righteous accusations about not using fine quality watercolor paper...but...well, this was just for fun. And it was pretty quick. The concepts were both done by me before. I mean the steaming cup with a figure in the vapors and the elephant. But I've done them separately, never before in one image.

Here it is from up close and with some more contrast added to the snapshot:

Greetings, friends of art, coffee, and elephants!

I was so happy to discover that this week's Qurator's Monday Mission was about the morning drink that inspires so much...

So, when I saw the challenge, which required no specific media (it could be a poem about coffee or a video, for example), I knew what I was going to do.

Thus, fresh out of this morning, the Cofeephant came to us.

It all began...

I have told this story a long time ago when I was a smaller fish and nobody heard my bubbling and babbling about creativity, curiosity, and such. I shall tell it anew and in short.

Painting with coffee came to me during a high-level meeting. Meaning, I was drawing with pencils, or chalks, or watercolors with children around me. And I was drinking coffee. And a small boy asked:

"Can we paint with coffee?"

I said...nothing. Because I knew then that we could.

And next time we did it.

The moral is...

Don't be quick to say "No!" to children ;)

Thank you!

Yours,

Manol
