Mini 6x4" Raven Painting #3

in OnChainArt4 years ago

This Was One Pissed Off Bird

This particular raven seemed to be a bit agitated. I remember that the model for this painting was really giving another bird a piece of its mind at this particular moment in time. Unfortunately I don't speak bird, so perhaps it was just a friendly dispute over some twigs?

Unnamed Raven - Acrylic on 6x4" Canvas
If you missed them, be sure to check out the other ravens in the series (1, 2)

This is one of a series of small paintings that my wife, Amanda Turner made to sell in her art studio. The canvas is pretty small, at just 6x4 inches.

For those who don't know already, Amanda has a studio here in Los Angeles that opens to the public every first Thursday of the month (pre-corona times). She's been working on some smaller pieces that are a bit more affordable to the collectors that would like to own a piece of Amanda's work without breaking the bank!

Thanks for having a look! As always, your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Amazing

Thanks!

This reminds me about the** Raven** from the bible the who was feeding the servant of God in the days of trouble. Raven is among the good messaging birds in the world. Good to hear bro. Hope you love Raven too?

Beautiful painting!

Wow! A lot of impact for a 6X4. I can almost hear that pissed off bird yelling "CAW CAW!!!" haha. Love it! 😃

haha, yeah we have a lot of 'bird fights' around where I live. I think it's because we're in the city and they are frustrated with not enough nature. That is just my imagination running wild, I guess.

Oh it doesn't take speaking bird skills to see what's this all about. Lovely piece!

Thanks! I think you are right. You can read it right in his expression.

Yes. Your wife is very talented

Too bad I didn't live closer. It would be really cool to visit the studio at some point. Nice job on this one just like the others. Thanks for sharing!

That would be cool! At the moment it doesn't matter so much anyway though because since the pandemic started they have been shut down to the public. Who knows when things will ever (if ever) go back to normal.

For sure! Hopefully soon and it will be fully safe.

i love crows so intelligent. beautiful painting

hello my dear friend, it is a very successful drawing. and a raven always brings me to edgar allen poe. I loved it a lot.
and I wish you a nice day

This is a great, very expressive work! I can just hear it! They are really smart birds.
I just ran into it because it was re-blogged by someone who had just upvoted me, so I was checking what they were up to, and your post was on top of their profile.

“Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil!—
Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted—
On this home by Horror haunted—tell me truly, I implore—
Is there—is there balm in Gilead?—tell me—tell me, I implore!”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”
excerpt: THE RAVEN by Edgar Allan Poe

I had for a time done small paintings of mice - they sold like hotcakes! As for Raven, I was influenced in my version by Northwest Coast Native lore: RAVEN - this piece should be in an upcoming exhibition next Spring in Seattle.

Hugs. I sincerely wish many successes in your publications and curations. Greetings with affection from Cumaná-Venezuela.

Hahahaha. I double checked on this again and again. Angry bird. Kudos to your wife Amanda Turner. I love painting too but I was trying to get into it fully but Agriculture stole my heart. Lol 😆😆. I will love my children to take after art🎨🎭, drawings, painting and so on. @nautilus-up , happy new month of December. Thanks for always supporting my blog too. Gracias 💕💘
