My Wife Loves to Draw Me
For some reason that only God knows, my wife loves my face. I guess I can't really complain. I'd be in trouble if she didn't!
The downside to this liking of my face, is that she constantly asks me to pose for her so that she can draw or paint me. Most of the time, I'm perfectly okay with it - but sometimes I am just not in the mood. This is especially true after I've posed 10 different ways and she isn't digging any of it.
That's how we ended up with this particular pose that she is drawing here. I eventually got so tired of posing that I just gave up and leaned on my hand. That's when she basically exclaimed:
There it is! Just like that. Don't move.
Amanda traditionally paints with oil and acrylic, but lately she has gotten interested in practicing with colored pencil. I think she gets better with each piece! I have always been a fan of pencil art.
There is something about it that I just can't describe. Something gritty and real!

What do I know, I think the pose was more comfortable for you and it seemed like you were deep in thought or just staring at an empty blank space. She's gotten better with time; your wife. This is stunning.

Thanks man! Yeah, I am always pretty amazed with her skill. The thing I find most impressive is the speed at which she puts out work. When I first met her, I dozed off for like 10 minutes and she drew a quick sketch of me that was super accurate. She has a talent!

She doesn't have an account, I post for her from time to time. To be fair, I didn't have to sit for too long. Eventually she took a photo and filled in the shading. lol

Wow, that is incredible detail :O Color pencils can be tricky but worth practicing :D

Thank you! Yeah, sometimes I am blown away at how quickly and well she can capture a likeness. We have a lot of artist friends who can take days or weeks to draw/paint what she does in minutes to an hour.
Oh wow, don't tell me this took less than an hour for her to draw? :O :D

Thanks! I am going to post another one that she did of me a while back that has some really cool shadow and highlight effects on it. It is amazing how you can trick the eye with some clever placement of color on the page.

I just wished that I have a face like yours having the ability to grow a beard and a mustache too.
You can also be looking young if you cut your hair short too without aslo the hair stubs :D

I dream about shaving my hair off all the time (I am sick of it) by Amanda really loves it and won't let me. Maybe after I bald a little bit more she'll be okay with it getting buzzed off.
Well look on the bright side, you get to sit there being bored and get your face drawn on a masterpiece.
