PAINTING PROCESS:

I've been anticipating for ages, to finally try out the pouring technique.
Let me share the process of creating the piece shown in the first photograph.

Wanting to step up from conventional pouring compositions, I divided the canvas, with tape, into pre-measured sections, ending up with squares in which I will pour my paint later on, creating a mosaic.

For pouring, the paint has to be more liquid than usual.

Being limited with materials, I decided to dilute the paint with water, (even though the acrylic medium is suggested).

My goal for this painting was to try and control the final color of the squares, the flow and rhythm, to achieve balance of the overall composition.

Every pour created different textures.
It was amazing to watch colors mix together, and try and manipulate the flow direction by lifting specific sides of my canvas, or blowing into the paint creating all kinds of mesmerizing effects.

The part that was tricky was to remove the tape without messing up the finished neighbor square.

Almost every time, the paint would spill all over, and I had to wipe it off using wet cloth, to try and revive the edges.
This part was really a pain in my but. It was just too messy.
And, also funny, the way that I managed to paint myself also. I actually feel bad I did not manage to take a picture of my hands and feet, Completely covered in paint - like another piece of art.

Even though my attempt to control this technique totally went bonkers, I can't help but to love the outcome.
It always seemed to me that here is nothing more rewarding than the moment when the painting process surprises with an unexpected outcome.
