Don't Forget the Sunscreen

We take a walk.

It's already hot. Not even mid morning but African sun hot.

It's mostly downhill and, as we round a corner, I'm stunned by the view as the trees open up ahead of us. Large, modern, immaculate homes adorn the cliffs of a majestic mountain.

The neighborhood has transformed from decent suburban into elite in one abrupt turn.

No Light Painting On Abandoned Place In Paranapiacaba

Established by the British São Paulo Railway Company in the mid-19th century, Vila de Paranapiacaba is located approximately 61 kilometers by road southeast of downtown São Paulo.

The construction of this zig-zag railway line in the surrounding hilly terrain arose to export coffee beans from the area via the port of Santos.

In 1982 the operation of the plant was finally stopped. Since then it has been left to decay.

Trudy walked swiftly home from school, doing her best to avoid the puddles and mind her good shoes. They’d cost eleven shillings and sixpence, as her mother never tired of telling her, adding " I’m damned if I’m going to throw good money after bad if you can't take care of your belongings."

Reaching home, Trudy pulled open the side gate to the backyard to collect some newspaper from the small wooden shed to shove in her wet shoes. It was a trick taught to her by her grandfather to stop the leather from splitting.

There is currently quite a fracas going on in the online art world. One that makes the NFT arguments that went on in 2020-2021 seem pretty damn civil. I assume you've been seeing this image (below) being shared and used as a profile pic recently.

...here's what's what on the whole thing, as far as I, a professional world renowned illustrator, am concerned.

I have only two points to make here.

The first is rather conventional advice. and the second is for anyone who is an actual f8cking grown up who can think past next Tuesday.

The goodness of Red velvet cupcakes 🍰!

I have been craving red velvet cake for some time now. @technicalside granny makes the most delicious red velvet cake! I have not yet asked for the recipe, and I'm too afraid to try a random one from the internet knowing damn well that I won't be happy with it 😅. So me forgetting to ask picky ended up taking the easy way out and bought red velvet cupcake box mix 🙈. I apologize to all my fellow bakers, I'm not proud of myself either. I started baking cakes and desserts from scratch a few years back and promised myself I'll never go back, but I caved to the cravings.

If you're a first-time baker or just a busy human being, box mix cakes are your friend. I tend to change the ingredients a bit, just to make it more fluffy or tasty.

Through Frozen Divoká Šárka Park to Libocký Brewery

A popular Czech winter song suggests that when Prague gets about three centimetres of snow, there’s always a calamity. Well, it is sort of true when it comes to driving in the suburbs. On the other hand, Prague looks wonderful with a fresh blanket of snow – at least until the snow melts into an ugly brownish slush. But that’s a completely different story. It has snowed for several days. So places like Divoká Šárka park look like taken from a winter fairy-tale. I took a stroll there yesterday – I needed a topic for my #beersaturday post and there’s a great brewery at the edge of Divoká Šárka. Sure, I could have gone there directly but as I know the place well and live nearby, I wanted to earn my beer this time.

Brahma, the first administrator and created being, sent his agent Daksha to perform the task. And Daksha produced 10 000 sons whom he sent forth to continue in the same vein.
