English - explanation why "Rewards declined"
I plan to move all my posts that had previously only appeared on STEEM (altogether four) to HIVE, because I want to make all my writing available on a single blockchain and haven't used STEEM for quite a while (apart from some commenting in the "DU" community, where some friends of mine who still don't post on HIVE are active, and participating in @chriddi's Scrabble).
I am writing this preface so that no one will wonder about the series of four posts that now follow with the rewards feature turned off.
After a few days, I will delete this explanation again so as not to unnecessarily complicate the reading of the post that follows below.
Deutsch - Erklärung, weshalb "Rewards declined"
Ich plane alle meine Posts, die bisher nur auf STEEM erschienen waren (insgesamt vier), auf HIVE zu übertragen, weil ich alle meine Texte auf einer einzigen Blockchain zur Verfügung stellen will und STEEM schon seit längerem nicht mehr nutze (abgesehen von einigen Kommentaren in der "DU"-Community, in der einige Freunde von mir aktiv sind, die noch nicht auf HIVE posten und der Teilnahme an @chriddi|s Scrabble).
Ich schreibe diesen Vorspann, damit sich niemand über die nun folgende Serie von vier Posts mit abgeschalteter Rewards-Funktion wundert.
Nach einigen Tagen werde ich diese Erklärung wieder löschen, um das Lesen des darunter folgenden Postst nicht unnötig zu erschweren.

Hi chess fans, that's my entry for the "Weekly Photography Challenge #2 - My Favorite Possession".
After thinking a while about what object in our household I emotionally associate more with than the demand on it to function pleasantly, I decided for my beloved and meanwhile not any more quite new chessboard made of rosewood, together with the heavy pieces that nevertheless hold nicely in one's hand. In my eyes it's a true jewel.
It has been many years since I decided against a career as a professional chess player - nowadays I play blitz chess almost only on the Internet just for fun - but when a friend who also plays chess visits me occasionally, it's still a pleasure to dig out the old chess board and play a few games.
As admin of "The Chess Community" I also owe it to myself to stay in reasonably good shape. :)

Hallo Schachfans, hier mein Beitrag zur "Weekly Photography Challenge #2 - My Favorite Possession".
Nach einigem Nachdenken darüber, mit welchem Gegenstand in unserem Haushalt mich emotional mehr verbinde als der Anspruch an ihn, dass er gefälligst zu funktionieren habe, entschied ich mich für mein geliebtes und mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz neues Schachbrett aus Palisanderholz samt den schweren und doch angenehm in der Hand liegenden Figuren. In meinen Augen ein wahres Schmuckstück.
Es ist nun schon viele Jahre her, dass ich mich gegen eine Karriere als Berufsschachspieler entschied - heutzutage spiele ich fast nur noch spaßeshalber Blitzschach im Internet - , aber wenn mich gelegentlich ein ebenfalls Schach spielender Freund besucht, ist es noch immer ein Genuss, das alte Schachbrett hervorzukramen und ein paar Partien zu spielen.
Als Admin von "The Chess Community" bin ich es mir außerdem schuldig, einigermaßen gut in Form zu bleiben. :)

Sehr schön. Mein Schachbrett ist eigentlich auch der einzige Luxusgegenstand, den ich besitze.
Dein Schachbrett ist wirklich auch sehr schön (und die Idee mit den zusätzlichen Damen ein nettes, kleines Detail).
Hi @jaki01, very nice to see a post in the chess community from a family with atleast two chess geniuses :). Of course now; I thinking about purchasing a similar set.
I too, have many favorite things chess related, hope its alright to mention here a somewhat non related favorite. Twenty-Five years ago I builded the table below (great care sanding, waxing & everything), I simply love this table. I have endured threats to discard, remove and others but I won't allow it.
Note: You going to have to wait longer for me to make good on my chess threats :). I playing strongly but I don't recognize that my opponents can capture my Queen & Knights even if I winning (lol).
