Wow I'll be asking Google how many episodes it had and I'm an anime lover too but my watch list now is the old ones but this captures my interest.
Ongoing pa yung show, episode 2 palang but the chapters are around 40+ with each episode built from 1-3 chapters on average. There's enough of content from the source material to spoil you by first season. Meron sila na cut from the manga so my bias na ako na manga is better but then may mga scenes na gusto ko tingnan yung actual animation.
???
Nadaanan ko po yung Episode one nito so nasa watching list ko siya ng mga ongoing anime. Isekai na genre yung isa sa mga bet ko sa anime.
Medyo pili nalang yung isekai na maganda dahil overused na yung mga tropes, like Skeleton Knight from Another World.
This look like the kind of anime I will like!!😻
Hopefully it's your type of comedy :>
My interest for watching anime ended somewhere in Bleach and/or Naruto. No manga for me. But I still do remember that the last one I've watched was Juni Ito. Weird that may be, I do like it.
This could be something I will be watching. The trailer looks interesting enough :)
Junji Ito is life.
The animation isn't that great, manga is better for this one.
So they say but I haven't checked the manga version. I agree it's not that great animation but I am for the story :D
I love that Isekai because it's pretty realistic. The info on Sega, the games and being a contemporary of the uncle i can relate. I'm a big Nintendo fan and hated Sega during the console wars, and I too have my underground favorite games that talk of a great story plot but with sort of weak evolution.
I can relate to his obsession with console but not at the actual level of loving a specific console, more along the lines of hearing someone talk about something they love and are passionate about it. That display of dedication to master a specific topic and then having the drive to share the enthusiasm, sometimes I'm just won over by the sheer amount of passion over a topic I can't care upfront initially. At the very least, he got me googling what SEGA was about.
Oh nah!!! you don't understand. The console wars were roothless. Each week we go to the magazine stand and watch the covers of the GamePro or Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine giving the new games and which games get the 5 star review for pushing your console an inch better. The best rivarly that you can compare to is with maybe the Android vs IPhone of the mid 2010's.
You got covers like this:
And commercials like that:
You got school discussions how Mortal Kombat was better on the SEGA Genesis because they didn't censor the blood from the game while Nintendo was a pussy for turning it into sweat. I know it was the ultimate geekiness conversation while your friend was talking about who to date, and you were excited about a 'console'.
Fun times, nevertheless. There is even a documentary that came out last year about the famous console wars of the 90s.
Update: There is also a book as well.
Never got into that but I can already tell it mattered a lot as how it became a pop-culture/meme reference on manga like Kengan Ashura in the most absurd ways. I may have to follow on a bit more of that later as it just comes off as a simple rivalry of geeks from an outsider (never been invested in consoles, friends just talk about it and I'm just nodding like yeah.)
It caught my interest too! Thank you for sharing. By the way, I noticed that your profile picture/avatar seems to have a likeness to the female character (^_^)
Medyo bias lang ako dahil prefer ko yung visual art style of manga over animation, depende sayo if trip mo ma spoil.
I'm tired of isekai shows but since you seem to recommend and like it to the point of bothering to make a post out of it, I might give this anime a try. Anime only because last time I read a manga, I translated the english phrases into japanese in my mind. It's hard to live like me. 😂
Meron akong mga questionable na "manga" na gusto ko ipa translate sayo dahil RAW pa yung status nila, open-minded kaba?
I don't know Japanese charot
This is fascinating! I'm a fan of portal fantasy genre, di pa ako masyado nakakamove on sa Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, although I haven't watched much anime in this genre. Last year lang kasi ako na-into sa anime and Manga when I watched AOT. I'll watch it first then pag nahook at nabitin, basahin ko.
I wouldn't recommend this show for an introduction at the isekai genre especially the comedy type where it makes fun of the common isekai tropes. Part of the impact is referencing pop-culture from the overused cliche which you have to have some foundation to grasp, not ruling out that you may still enjoy the show, I just think you'll be missing some bits of context as some are handed down in the subtle dialogue. If there is a good starting point for comedy type isekai, better to go with KonoSuba for now.
Ohh I see, baka di ko nga maenjoy pag maraming references na di ko pa alam.
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll try KonoSuba.
Another anime series to watch on Netflix. I'm not super familiar with the isekai genre -- I just caught up on the latest episodes of Mushoku Tensei which ended exceeding my expectations and not being at all what I expected it to be -- but this Uncle From Another World series sounds interesting. You always wonder what happens to their body while their mind's off in another world enjoying fantastical adventures and it looks like with this series we finally get to find out the aftermath.
Great post! Can't wait to check this out too!
Reach episode 3 and 4 as these two captures what you'll expect from the rest of the story. I'm up to date with the source material and so far they have been consistently giving the right twists to their humor to keep me turning the pages of the manga. Glad you like it :>
Wow I'll make sure to put it on my list even though Isekai isn't really my genre😂. I think the only isekai I've read is parallel paradise, so any other good recommendations would be nice🙂
Konosuba, it's a staple recommendation.
Dear @adamada, sorry to jump in a bit off topic but may I ask you to support the HiveBuzz proposal?
It recently lost its funding, is struggling to get back above the HBD stabilizer proposal, and is in dire need of help.
You can support it on Peakd, Ecency,
On behalf of The HiveBuzz team, thank you!
