I think that if there is one thing that all of us who watch anime, manga, series, or movies have in common, it is that we have probably abandoned one of these at some point while watching them. There are many reasons for this: it could be anime with many seasons that we don't have time to watch, plots that lost steam as the episodes went by, or simply that we lost interest in what had initially captivated us. It may also be that, during long breaks between seasons, we lost interest or simply shifted our focus to other anime that appeared and stole our attention. In my particular case, there are many that I have abandoned, but today I will mention three that are perhaps the most striking that come to mind.
Boku no Hiro Academia is an anime that I had high expectations for. The first seasons were spectacular, with dozens of interesting and funny characters and Deku who, despite some setbacks along the way, evolved to become the strongest. The villains are also striking, and to a certain extent, you can connect with them. I'm not going to say that Boku no Hiro is a bad anime, not at all. I think it has great potential, but for some reason, I drifted away from it. The excitement of waiting for Sunday faded until at some point I let the seasons pile up, and honestly, right now, I don't feel motivated to pick it up again.

Like Boku no Hiro, Nanatsu no Taizai is one of those anime series that was hugely popular from the moment it was first broadcast. I was one of those who fell head over heels for the seven knights with their unique personalities and abilities. It's a medieval story with magic and very powerful characters, so the stage was set for an epic tale, and well, that's how it was for the most part. We saw impressive battles, villains who were arguably even more powerful than the protagonists themselves, and plot twists that left us feeling good, but I feel that over time the depth of the story began to diminish, and with it my desire to finish watching the final seasons.

The case of the Monogatari series is very curious. When I started watching it, I felt like I had discovered something unique with a great story ahead, but I made the mistake of watching it out of order, and that's because I didn't research how I should watch this anime. Those who have seen it know what I'm talking about. This, combined with the limited time I had available at the time, caused me to lose interest until I gave up on it completely. Watching this anime in the correct order is one of the things I owe myself. I know the story is good, so I'm sure it will be worth it.

Don't get me wrong, this post is not intended to discredit the aforementioned anime. I know they are a huge success and deserve to be so. They are anime that will surely remain etched in the minds of most of us. It's just that, for me personally, they started to generate a feeling of detachment as the seasons went by. Perhaps that's because I'm currently more eager to see how a story ends, and seeing the anime drag on for several seasons discourages me until I finally give up on it.
This has probably happened to you with some anime as well, so I'd like you to mention some to me. I think it's normal that at some point we lose interest for reasons that are unique to us and that others might not understand. For example, I really like Saint Seiya and everything about its story, but I know there are people who haven't seen it yet and might not be interested in it, and well, that blows my mind, but it's simply a matter of taste.

I abandoned too my hero academia and monogotari , same motivation as yours 💯
Yes, I suppose many people experienced the same thing.
I really like how you're open about your dropped anime list. Not many people want to talk about these things.
I think it's normal that those of us who watch anime have given up on some of them at some point, and well, I think it's interesting to talk about this.
When an anime runs long, the excitement is not the same. There are people who love endless chapters, however, I'm not that kind of person either. In particular, I hate it when they put in a lot of filler story. I almost gave up Naruto because of this.
I haven't seen this anime, but I have heard that it is very popular.
I was close to giving up on Naruto, but since I had read the manga and knew what would happen, I stuck it out until the end.
Interesting topic. Personally, I don't really enjoy watching long anime unless there's something compelling about it. In the case of Boku no Hero Academia, I saw it at the time a couple of years ago because of the fame it gained and because of my taste in heroes at that time (also because an old friend recommended it to me). That's why, along with Naruto, Attack on Titan and other "long" anime, they were the ones I had a certain attachment to and I have watched them until the end despite how long they are. Well, with Naruto it's more of a fascination since I grew up watching it since I was a child.
However, I can't say the same about other anime like One Piece or Bleach, which, for obvious reasons, I haven't seen and I'm not that interested in doing so at the moment. Compared to other anime like Monogatari Series, it was more famous on the internet for its high fan service and the way in which the protagonist is described. Well, I was never interested in it and now that you tell me that the issue of continuity or order (disorder) that they have between one another also affects things, things are worse.
Finally, what happened with Nanatsu no Taizai was definitely its drop in animation quality in its final seasons, just after the change of studio they had at the time. After that fiasco I thought about not watching it anymore, but with regards to its sequel to The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse they've redeemed themselves a bit.
There are long anime that are the exception, like Naruto, SNK, and One Piece—the latter in my case—but certainly most tend to get boring at some point due to padding and a lack of level of quality.
The issue with Monogatari isn't as serious, but it's important to watch it properly, otherwise, you might very well abandon it.
And well, when anime reduce the animation quality, it can also be discouraging, even more so when the action and fights are essential to the plot.
I didn't finish watching Boku no Hero and Nanatsu no Taizai, although I read their endings, simply because, halfway through, I didn't feel the same excitement, and why? I felt that the plot was falling flat or that I was expecting something more. I didn't like the endings, and even less so the development and how they handled it. For me, the fights weren't as exciting anymore, and the plot, shortly before the end, seemed boring and mediocre. There wasn't as much creativity, and the story became predictable or unadventurous. I know there are people who like it, and that's respected, but in my case, I couldn't continue without something else catching my attention.
I completely understand you. For an anime to sustain itself over several seasons, it must have the ability to keep viewers on the edge of their seats at all times, and well, it seems that wasn't the case with Boku no Hero and Nanatsu no Taizai.
What is supposed to be the true order to watch Monogatari? I’ve read that the best way is to watch it in broadcast order.
Kizumonogatari and Koyomimonogatari are out of order, but beyond that, if you start this anime without investigating and watch any season at random out of ignorance, that can discourage you.

Thank you!
The reasons for which one abandons some anime are infinite and that is not always synonymous that the anime is bad, on the contrary, I abandoned a lot, but now I will mention the ones I remember, One Punch Man, I saw only the first season and I did not want to see anything else, it is not bad, it is great, but it is not the style that I like haha
And I also abandoned Kuroshitsuji, this because of the lack of time to watch it, I can't find a few minutes to enjoy it as it deserves, so I decided to leave it there until some day I can watch it, I want to enjoy it and not watch it just because, although I already read the manga and I know the things that are coming haha I want to see it animated, at some point 👀
Very well presented the reasons why you stopped watching these anime, loss of interest, lack of time, watching the series out of order (it has happened to me and I was disoriented haha 😂), very good topic 👌🦉
I understand One-Punch Man; it's not an anime for everyone, although Kuroshitsuji's is unforgivable and unjustifiable 😦.
And yes, there are certainly several reasons why you might stop watching an anime, although it's also true that if it's really good, it's hard to put it down.

Seven Deadly Sins is one of my favorite anime I've seen, although there are details in its story that could have been better. I watched that anime in its entirety and loved it. Of my favorite characters Meliodas and Scanor.
Boku no Hiro Academia I liked the first season, from there not so much, that's why I also abandoned it. The other anime I don't remember watching.
Greetings.
