Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

I was thinking about the so-called red planet, some call Mars that, and then my very imaginative mind started thinking about red flowers, and one of the flowers I really like are poppies. I see them as fragile and strong at the same time, but without touching them, they look like paper flowers and are beautiful. They sway in the wind, are delicate, and look gorgeous in fields of poppies, filling everything with color. Also, my second cousin, Marta, sent me flowers from her poppies a few days ago, and I started to connect everything.

That's when my mind thought of an alien living in a world of poppies. And not only living in such a world, but intermingling with that flower. As is my custom, I liked to combine the alien with an elf and also give it three eyes and flood everything with the color red and the eyes. So I tried to create a planet, one that is in my mind where that reality exists. A purely fantasy design, but I loved doing it. Of course, the alien was in my mind, so I couldn't find an image like that, free of copyright, so I decided to create it.

Design process

The design is made in Photoshop CS6, which does not use AI. I worked with five copyright-free images and one image created with the free version of Wombo.

For the background, I used two watercolor images. The first is pink in two layers, and in the second layer, I applied a soft light blend. Then, on top of this, I placed the second image in four layers with a darker color blend and placed them in different positions and scales within the design. Between the first two layers and the other four, I placed the two images of extraterrestrial landscapes with focal light and lighter color blends.

I then worked on the poppy image in five layers with different scales and positions, first erasing the background and using luminosity, hard light, overlay, and darker color blends, depending on how they looked against the background.

Then I began to work on the image of the alien in three layers, erasing the background and using the darker color, darken, and normal blends, enhancing the light and contrast in the latter.

Finally, I selected the alien's vertical eye and copied and pasted it into different parts of the design in several layers with different scales and positions and with the strong light blend.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Pensaba en el llamado planeta rojo, algunos lo llaman así a Marte y luego mi mente que es muy imaginativa comenzó a pensar en flores rojas y una de las flores que me gustan mucho son las amapolas, las veo frágiles y a la vez fuertes, pero sin tocarlas, parecen flores de papel y son hermosas, se deslizan en el viendo, son delicadas y en los campos de amapolas se ven bellísimas y lo llenan de color todo. Además, mi prima segunda, Marta, me envió hace unos días flores de sus amapolas y comencé a relacionar todo con todo.

Es ahí donde mi mente pensó en un alien que viviera en un mundo de amapolas. Y no sólo que viviera en un mundo así, sino que se entremezclara con esa flor. Como es mi costumbre me gustó combinar el alien con un elfo y además que tuviera tres ojos e inundarlo todo con el color rojo y los ojos. Por lo que intenté crear un planeta, uno que está en mi mente donde se da esa realidad. Un diseño de pura fantasía, pero me encantó hacerlo. Por supuesto el alien estaba en mi mente por lo que no encontraría una imagen así, libre de derechos de autor, por lo que decidí crearla.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño está realizado en Photoshop CS6 que no usa IA. Trabajé con cinco imágenes sin derechos de autor y una imagen creada con Wombo versión gratuita.

Para el fondo usé dos imágenes de acuarelas. La primera que es rosada en dos capas donde en la segunda le coloqué la fusión de luz suave. Luego sobre esto pude la segunda imagen en cuatro capas con la fusión de color más oscuro y las puse en distintas posiciones y escalas dentro del diseño. Entre las dos primeras capas y las otras cuatro coloqué las dos imágenes de paisajes extraterrestres con las fusiones de luz focal y color más claro.

Posteriormente trabajé la imagen de las amapolas en cinco capas con distintas escalas y posiciones, borrando previamente el fondo y con las fusiones de luminosidad, luz fuerte, superponer y color más oscuro, dependiendo de como quedaban respecto del fondo.

Luego comencé a trabajar la imagen del alien en tres capas, borrando el fondo y con las fusiones de color más oscuro, oscurecer y normal, realzando en esta última la luz y el contraste.

Finalmente seleccioné el ojo vertical que tiene el alien y lo copié y pegué en distintas partes del diseño en varias capas con distintas escalas y posiciones y con la fusión de luz fuerte.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
