5 minutes on the timer.... BEGIN!
I've often thought what life would have been like had I been born in another zone. What kinds of opportunities fate might have afforded me. Everyone in my station had been born to breed- love wasn't an option for us. And now that I was approaching maturity, I would be shipped off to mate, every year. After labor, my child would be taken and my body would be given six weeks to recover before preparing to mate again.
It was cruel. If we were to just be used as cattle, they should have spared us the pain of growing up together, having emotions, fantasies, and experiencing the first taste of sexual awareness.
But they wanted that. They wanted our bodies to be flooded with hormones and desire so that we would be primed and ready for bearing the next generation.
I couldn't bear the separation from him. I knew that, and took the risk willingly, crossing into the Blue Zone under the cloak of night, hand in hand with my love.
If successful, we would have a new life.
If discovered, we would be executed.
The sound of the alarm alerted us to our fate.
I know that "blue zones" have a very specific meaning hahaha and that I didn't write about THAT kind of blue zone - but that's the beauty of the prompts from freewrites. You can let your mind wander and use any inspiration that comes. I always tend to go dark, lol. and I'm fond of dystopian themes, too. so - that was the basis for my freewrite today! Hope you enjoyed it. Somedays, it is VERY hard to squeeze a concept into 5 minutes!!! hahaha Today was one of those days

hahahaha thank you! i felt like I should have expounded so much more!!! and was tempted to just continue past the 5 minutes.
but then i thought - noooooo that defeats the purpose of the exercise!! hahahaha so - i stuck with what I had!
...and now tonight... I will stick with whatever I write in the 5 minutes too... and not add any extra sentences... let me try anyway !LOLZ
I used to start with 5 and extend until I had finished the story... hahaha people used to always say "you did all this in 5 minutes???" LOL
so i started to write on my post - this was only STARTED in the 5 minutes... but I jsut couldn't stop! hahahah
so its totally FINE to continue! because as @mariannewest says - there are no rules to freewrites - just go with your heart!
but for me? and my schedule? ahaha I should LOVE that i'm limited to 5 minutes and find GREAT FREEDOM and joy in that. hahahaha it's like the best way to get a post in without any kind of pressure for me now!!! LOL

Well, I imagine that having another culture prevents a lot from fully understanding what you want to express, however, I imagine that the situation you describe is experienced by many beings on this planet, whether they are human or not :)
hahahahaha this is like a dystopian future.
the two people who are escaping their region, are escaping because they are bred as slaves to mate with the elite people in their region.
If they had been born in the "Blue Zone" they would have been born free - free to choose their future, choose who they love, choose everything in their lives.
but the people in this post - they were born into a different zone - almost like cattle to be bred. Their emotions do not matter, their desires do not matter.
But - if they can escape into the Blue Zone - they can have freedom. As long as they go undiscovered.
If they are caught trying to flee their zone and enter the "Blue Zone" then - they will be executed.
They try to flee anyway.
But then the post ends with the sound of the alarm. So we are left to wonder... were they caught?

This was great! In the end we sacrifice everything, and nothing for love. For a life outside of the Blue Zone, is a life of emptiness, tap dancing to the tune of another. Living out a narrative that does not feed the heart, and actively exploits the body. So, in the end... did she sacrifice? Did they sacrifice? If life is meaningless without the people we care about, what is the point? Very well done 🤗 !LUV !ALIVE ... this is like a circle of mutual encouragement hehe... now I must write too❣️
