Naturally Orange
When
the summer
is thoughtful
and the tress
throw shadows,
I delight myself
with the wind.
Would you
paint your horses
black? (she asked)
I like horses
to be my horses
(I smiled)
I am
the orange
fantasy
behind
the bushes.
I am
the queen
of sparrows
who never
see it
that black.
But as
any queen
I cry
and I stare
until
it all comes
natural.
This is all wonder. That opening
is very strong! Really pulls us in.

What a beautiful poem! I liked everything: the images, the freshness of the language, the length of the lines, the use of parentheses. Personally, I wouldn't have centered the text or added those separator lines, but they don't make the quality of the poem. Wonderful. You made my day. !PIZZA !LUV
