1. Messaging system powered by BeeChat
A lot of your requested this during our latest AMA and now it's available. You can check the new messaging system powered by BeeChat (read more here and here) at https://peakd.com/chat. Or if you are already on PeakD you should see a brand new icon in the top bar to quickly access the chat.

Please keep in mind that this is just the first release of the messaging system and that we are going to keep improving it in the coming weeks. Also an huge thanks to the BeeChat team (@aggroed and @reazuliqbal) for their awesome work and support.
NOTE: When using the messaging system please be sure to read and understand how it works. Here a quick recap:
- PeakD uses an external chat system called BeeChat developed by @aggroed and @reazuliqbal. Read more HERE.
- BeeChat verifies the identity of Hive users validating the signature of a short message
- BeeChat is integrated on multiple websites, not just PeakD
- Presently BeeChat is NOT encrypted. Please be careful with what you share using this chat system (until there is a solution to improve upon this)
- It is a new system still in development and we can expect that there will be more features available in the future
2. Mentions/Users autocomplete in Editor
This is something users have been asking for quite some time but took us a while to find a proper solution to handle it. But finally you can easily mention users in your posts or comments easily.
We do our best to suggest accounts relevant to a specific conversation, but if are not able to find them we do a lookup for the best matches between all Hive users. Give it a try and let us know if you have any feedback to make it better.
3. Improve Power Up/Down with sliders
This is more an improvement than a completely new feature but should make the life easier for some users. It's now easier to Power Up/Down in your wallet using sliders so you don't have to manually specify the HP amount:

really like the development here, don't get me wrong now.
but wouldn't it be better to integrate/implement matrix with fully encrypted rooms and chats? feels like matrix is a lot better than beechat in all regards?
It's about what was legitimately available and known... never heard of matrix until you wrote this today. And they don't likely have a system to integrate hive like beechat developed. (This is very important so that you know if you're talking to @jarvie on our messaging system then you know with certainty that it is actually the user @jarvie who owns the @jarvie hive account... this seems simple but no one until beechat had this solution available for us and pursued getting others to join in)
We would still prefer an encrypted system (and if possible a decentralized one) so if a backend solution is presented to us that has what we indeed are listening.
Most of our work is on the user interface we are dependent on backends and in this case BeeChat seems to also be willing to develop features our users are interested in.

Nothing there yet for the bee chat, also when I went to full screen for it I saw no method to collapse back to a non full screen view. I will continue to look, at least I have the chat icon.
What do you mean exactly? No option to add friends and create a conversation?
here is what I see. Also when I went full screen I did not see a return to normal screen option, I may have just overlooked it though.
So I was only able to go full screen, or change the DM level.
Is this a screenshot of the whole page? If so which device are you using?

Pretty much, I was using hive keychain as log in, windows 7 pro as operating system, and on chrome and using peakd. I can show the whole screen shot that was most of it with just waste space removed.

What would you want the app to do that the mobile site doesn't presently do?
At least I don't have to go to chrome then type in the peakd.com to access.
Most of the people I bring into Hive always ask for an app, and even though I tell them peakd is the best interface to use, they say they don't like going to Chrome and prefer direct access to an app.
Build an app, then a high possibility to have more authors using the interface.
Yes we recognize people want an APP (so do we) we just wonder what it is about apps they want most that the mobile site doesn't presently do.
Also there are pretty easy ways to put the app looking button on your smart phone home screen. Some mobile browsers give an option called "add to home screen" or something like that.

Great, Nice to see updates.
Is Peakd planning to generate revenue through ads as peakd has a good user base and daily visitors. This can bribg small outside revenue which peakd can use for developments or to burn hive or anything that would bring value to hive.
