Fürstlich Drehna Castle is the center of an outstanding ensemble with a lime tree square, manor house, official residence, nursery and brewery. On the remains of a medieval predecessor building, the castle was repeatedly expanded and rebuilt until the late 19th century. The various construction phases from different eras give the complex its unique charm. The 52-hectare landscape park with its rare tree population is one of the most charming in Brandenburg. The origins of the castle site go back to a Slavic castle complex. In 1521 the lords of Minckwitz took over the dominion of Drehna. They had the castle rebuilt, fortified it with three defense towers and had the moat built. In 1697, the von Promnitz family acquired the lordship, which led to lively building activity. The baroque west side, which is still preserved today and faces the park, stands for this. Since 1807, when the then lord of the castle, Moritz Count Lynar, was elevated to the rank of prince, the town and castle have been called Fürstlich Drehna. In 1877, the lordship passed to the Bremen shipowning Wätjen family. Two generations added and changed the interior of the castle once again. Today, the castle, the park and the numerous outbuildings are owned by the Brandenburgische Schlössergesellschaft and are managed by the travdo hotels & resorts GmbH.

Das Schloss Fürstlich Drehna ist der Mittelpunkt eines hervorragenden Ensembles mit Lindenplatz, Gutshof, Amtshaus, Gärtnerei und Brauerei. Auf den Resten eines mittelalterlichen Vorgängerbaus wurde das Schloss bis ins späte 19. Jahrhundert immer wieder erweitert und umgebaut. Die verschiedenen Bauabschnitte aus unterschiedlichen Epochen verleihen der Anlage ihren einzigartigen Reiz. Der 52 Hektar große Landschaftspark mit seinem seltenen Baumbestand gehört zu den reizvollster in Brandenburg. Die Ursprünge des Schlossstandortes gehen auf eine slawische Burganlage zurück. 1521 übernahmen die Herren von Minckwitz die Herrschaft Drehna. Sie ließen das Schloss neu erbauen, befestigten es mit drei Wehrtürmen und ließen den Wassergraben anlegen. 1697 erwarb die Familie von Promnitz die Standesherrschaft, was eine rege Bautätigkeit nach sich zog. Hierfür steht die heute noch erhaltene barocke Westseite, die dem Park zugewandt ist. Seit 1807, als der damalige Schlossherr Moritz Graf Lynar in den Fürstenstand erhoben wurde, heißen Ort und Schloss Fürstlich Drehna. 1877 ging die Herrschaft an die Bremer Reederfamilie Wätjen über. Zwei Generationen ergänzten und veränderten noch einmal das Innere des Schlosses. Das Schloss, der Park sowie die zahlreichen Nebengebäude befinden sich heute im Eigentum der Brandenburgischen Schlössergesellschaft und werden durch die travdo hotels & resorts GmbH verwaltet.
