Hello Congratulations
What a great adventure friend, it's one thing I have to do
Happy Friday

Hello dear @txatxy, thank you very much. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

I would have preferred a private hot air couple balloon ride but Yohann wasn't interested.

My mind was like, Wait what?! Just when I thought he surprised you with this experience as a "romantic gesture" for the both of you. 😂 But I guess, he took those awesome shots from below? I literally got goosebumps looking at the beautiful photos! And I really love the contrasting colors of the hot air balloon against the blue sky.

Mental images of locking myself in the car until he returns with a can of fuel flashed before me.

The last part! Are you guys serious? 😱. If this did happened, it would just be like the movies! So thrilling yet so scary. 😂

Hi Claire!

"My mind was like, Wait what?! Just when I thought he surprised you with this experience as a "romantic gesture" for the both of you."

Haha 😂 he left me to do it on my own, so no romantic moments there lol. It turned out to be a good thing because you're right he spent the entire time taking shots from below while waiting.

The fuel situation was crazy and scary. There were no women around, mostly huge trucks that occasionally passed. This also happened to us again one evening when we got lost in the desert in the dark, running in circles after sunset because the GPS didn't work. Since then, we had a spare fuel can for rare desert trips like these.

At least his "not-so-romantic" gesture led you to having these crazy beautiful shots!

I wouldn't dare to venture out on a dessert without a spare gas thanks to this blog! Haha.

But I'm adding hot air balloon adventure to my bucket list now! but perhaps I'll do this in Europe and not in the middle of a dessert 😂!

No worries, pick up and drop off are part of it, so no risk of running out of fuel haha. We were just stubborn to do last-minute detours without checking in advance how far the gas stations were. Perhaps by this time, more gas stations are present.
I guess flying in a hot air balloon in Europe is also beautiful especially over beautiful rivers and lakes or better yet, a huge lavender field.

😮 Goals!

I would have preferred a private hot air couple balloon ride but Yohann wasn't interested, so I joined a group made up of various individuals and passenger couples instead.

I wonder why tho? 🤔 Hahaha

Hi Kim, good question, I asked @iamyohann just now to be sure. I thought it was because he preferred the acrobatic flights similar to what you did but he couldn't remember the real reason.

😂 We'll just keep at that. We won't know the real reason.

Haha maybe it will come back to him when we see you again 😂

Omg! That is amazing. Wonderful views.

Was it hot being in a desert?

I had a fun time reliving the experience while editing the videos. The best time to do it is between the months of December to February, the so-called winter months in the Middle East. During this time the average low temperatures would be around 10 degrees Celsius (50 deg. F) to 12 deg C (53.6 deg F) in the desert and then around 24 deg Celsius (75 deg F) when the sun is high.

Oh wow, not as hot as I'd imagined. I was thinking in the 40 degrees+ zone. Gets pretty hot here in Australia in summer where we have week long bouts for 46 degrees Celsius. No going out in that weather lol

Yikes, that is hot. Same there too during the summer months of June to August, the heat rises up to above 40 degrees. Like a built-in outdoor sauna, one would literally sweat while swimming in the sea and even in the evening, it would still be hot around 30 degrees or so. Yes, I agree, better to stay in that weather 😁
However cold seasons in the desert are nice, pleasant temperatures to do many activities.

Wow, That is something enormous and beautiful experience, no doubt why it is so expensive. But I didn't knew that they can fit so many people in single balloon. It seemed like a must visit deal and completing the bucket list is actually a huge achievement though.
The pictures are too cool.
Stay awesome and enjoy the weekend dear @discoveringarni

Hi Praditya @praditya, it was interesting how the pilot explained the science behind it, he went into physics mode - hot air rising within the envelope for buoyancy. It's an unforgettable activity to try. Thank you and have a lovely weekend to you too

Wow! Your husband is so sweet! This is something that I'll be adding to my bucketlist. Thanks for the detailed info😊

Riding Hot air ballon is one of my bucketlist in life.. I really want to experience this since I was a child.. Why? Beacause I always saw it it my books when I was a young.

Seeing the sunrise from 4000 feet above the ground is really amazing.

Hello Rolando @intoy.bugoy, like you, I've seen it as well in a book. It was peaceful up there apart from the occasional sound of hot air blowing and the voice of the pilot who also served as a tour guide.

That's so cool that you did that. Check that off the bucket list. It's a really neat place as well especially if you saw those animals. The petrol part of the story would be a bit stressful. It's good that there was a station before you ran out. That wouldn't have been fun. I actually had a balloon ride booked at one point years ago, but it was canceled the day of because of weather and I was never able to rebook it. The company refused to give me a refund because their policy stated that they don't give refunds. So that sucked. I lost like $600 or something like that.

The oryxes, camels, and gazelles were so fascinating to watch from the sky. I saw them once up close when I traveled to this area by land.

I didn't factor in the weather but sorry to hear that, that's unfair and that's a lot of money 😱

I didn't think about it before but yes, the upside to doing it in Dubai, the weather is predictable, since it only rains 3 times a year. Early mornings are ideal because of the wind conditions although it's not recommended during summer. It gets very hot and humid.

Yes, I think predictable weather is key for balloon rides. So Dubai would be good for that
