All the pictures seems very professional though! That seems a very soothing vacation. The camel was like- don't come to my territory or else I'll bite you! LOL
Why didn't you did paragliding as well? It seems like fun.

Thank you, hehe there were all taken with a DSLR camera at a time when I was not too lazy to carry such a big camera around lol.

Paragliding, oh no, not me, haha, I don't trust myself well enough to control the glider against the strong wind so I'm happy to be on the ground unless I'm a passenger. I did try paramotoring on a trike which I'll try to share here one day. Thank you for dropping by and leaving a lovely comment.

Hello @livinguktaiwan and @pinmapple team, thank you so much for this wonderful Easter surprise! Wishing you a beautiful Easter Sunday!

Omg Tim Hortons has made it all the way to the middle east now!? Lol

Wow that looks like an incredible trip. Ive never been to a desert befire. It looks amazing. What an experience. Your pictures are great. I love the ones of the trees growing out of the dunes. So cool.

Haha, yes, it was one of my favorite coffee 😄 I first met Tim Hortons in Dubai and then reunited later after 10 years during a recent trip to Manila. We don't have one in our region yet. Is there one in France? Thank you, I'm glad you liked the photos.

No there are no Tim Hortons in France. The chain originated in Canada though. It's basically the Starbucks of Canada. The first cafe was started by the Hockey Player Tim Horton. After that it was sold to an American company then Spanish or Brazilian. Its changed hands several times and seems to get worse each time unfortunately. I wouldn't really call it Canadian anymore but it was at one time.

I see, interesting to know its history, I knew that it was a Canadian coffee franchise but I didn't know that it was sold to different companies. I remember the donuts very well. Thank you for answering my question.

This is an absolutely different kind of fun experience! Your wonderful photos reminded me as well of the unforgettable adventures I had in the UAE desert. How was the heat of the sun? Was the scorching temperature bearable?

Hi Erne, thank you! It's nice to reminisce, isn't it especially in our hot summer months now, it reminds us so much of the scorching heat.

We habitually went there between the months of November to March when it was colder and pleasant. During the really hot months, he used to paramotor instead. The timings were also dependent on the wind speed. We would end up just hiking here when the wind speed is not suitable to fly.

Congratulations Arni for making it to the top feature! Happy Easter!

Thanks Erne! Hope you're enjoying a relaxing Easter!

😮 Goals! 🙌

The color palette of these photos is just 👌. I just love to see expanses like this. Would love to experience the desert at least once.

Plus, Yohann paragliding! Awesome sight of the desert from the sky.

Hi Kim, thank you, it means a lot to hear that. We craved nature and the greens while living in the Middle East and the desert was the next best thing, especially during the colder season.

Yohann misses paragliding, most especially his glider.

Yes! Sunsets in the desert just hit a different kind of feels.

It's nice to spend the evening in the middle of the desert with friends and stay out overnight and enjoy a bonfire.

😱 Would love to do that! 🤩🤩🤩
Just basking under the clear sky and the stars! And then talking about anything. Now I miss my friends.

One day, sigh. Anything is possible 😍

Omg. Can't imagine getting bitten by a camel, let alone being chased by it (or them!) 🐫

Desert camping is really an experience that can't be missed when living in the UAE but driving in a 4x4 and paragliding are next level!

Hi @arrliinn, haha got bitten by a young camel in Hatta. It wasn't painful because I was wearing jeans but it was unexpected 😅 and so was getting chased. I didn't think I had it in me to have run that fast Lol. Thank you for reading and leaving a wonderful comment.

What a fascinating place, truly awesome @discoveringarni!
I find it really sad and kind of nostalgic when one sees abandoned villages or homes to think that people once lived and loved there, a once thriving community, and now it's just dead!
We live in a truly remarkable world.

Thanks so much, Lizelle, hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend!

Yes, I agree. I heard the villagers left because the sand was just uncontrollable. It was burying the houses and it was not really easy to get to. We once got lost in this area and couldn't find our way back with an almost empty fuel tank. Glad our last guessed turn was correct and when the gas station signage appeared on the main highway, we were so relieved.

Lovely photos Arni and seemed like a nice experience 🙂
I remember you mentioned Tim Hortons when you were in Manila last time!

Hello @cinnccf, thank you. Yes, you're right, this recent Tim Hortons find in Manila felt like a reunion with an old friend. 😀

Literally Vacation goals! That seems the most interesting place to visit. The pictures are like out of some movie's shots, very professional.
The adventures Adaline must have all rushed up there. Seems like you had great fun. Did you got tanned? as such places tend to be very hot.

Hello Sahiba, thank you for your encouraging words, it made me happy. We just moved and found the old camera that was used for these photos again.

Yes, it could get really hot during the summer months between June- September. The kind where you're perspiring while swimming. About getting tanned, yes, I liked the natural tan that the weather in the Middle East gave. It was a different shade from the tropical tan that we get in the Philippines. Happy weekend!

So cool, coffee in the desert. The view in the video from the heights is amazing. Wonderful experience!

Hello @cryptoxicate, thank you for dropping by and checking out the video. I highly recommend it if you have a long layover in Dubai and would like a different kind of activity. Wishing you a lovely Easter Sunday!

Coffee in a dessert is not a bad idea. I have never been into dessert before. I have heard and read about neolithic and bronze ages and I still can't believe that the tool factory was buried there... So many histories are disappeared and buried in the earth... Unbelievable ...

Hello Priyan @priyanarc, so sorry for my late reply. I thought I replied to all of the comments but I missed it, my bad. It's amazing how they were able to discover something like that here in the middle of nowhere. However, over the years, despite being remote, this place became known to be an off-road drivers' paradise since it features amazing off-road trails.

wow that looks really amazing the pictures are awesome!! So cool to fly there :))

Thanks, @katrin-lux for your message. I heard they have tour packages organized by the archaeology center perfect for long layovers in Dubai.
