Capping off a great day feels even more satisfying when you spend every minute doing and seeing amazing things. That's exactly how it was with our visit to La Cumbrecita, the pedestrian village you can't miss if you're traveling through the province of Córdoba. You might think that a small town doesn't offer much to do, but that's not the case with La Cumbrecita. It has tons of beautiful spots to explore, relax, or venture out on, and even a single day is enough to capture a wealth of beautiful travel memories ❤️.
Coronar un gran día se siente aún más satisfactorio cuando te pasas haciendo y viendo cosas geniales hasta el último minuto. Así fue con nuestro paso por La Cumbrecita, el pueblo peatonal que no te podés perder si estás de paseo por la provincia de Córdoba. Uno podría llegar a pensar que un pueblo pequeño no ofrece mucho que hacer, pero este no es el caso de La Cumbrecita. En él, hay un montón de rincones hermosos para explorar, descansar o aventurarse, que incluso un solo día es suficiente para llevarse un montón de postales hermosas de viaje ❤️.
To make the most of our day, my dad and I got up early to catch the first bus from Santa Rosa to La Cumbrecita. The trip took us almost two hours, during which we passed through many beautiful landscapes of Córdoba. When we arrived, the first thing we did was go to the tourist information office to get a map on how to get around. Throughout the day we managed to visit all the points of interest listed on the map, including Cerro Wank, an impromptu trek to a summit that offered a panoramic view of the entire town.
Para aprovechar todo nuestro día, mi papá y yo nos levantamos temprano para tomar el primer bus desde Santa Rosa hasta La Cumbrecita. Hacer este recorrido nos tomó casi dos horas, en las que pasamos por muchos paisajes hermosos de Córdoba. Cuando llegamos, lo primero que hicimos fue ir a la oficina de información turística para que nos den un mapa sobre cómo movernos en el lugar. A lo largo del día logramos pasar por todos los puntos interesantes que decía el mapa, incluyendo el Cerro Wank, un improvisado trekking hasta una cumbre que nos dejó ver todo el pueblo desde lo alto.
As our bus back time approached, my dad and I set off for the terminal, but checking the map one last time, we realized we'd missed a place. It was Cascada Grande, a waterfall at the end of a kilometer-long trail. With all the walking we'd already done, one more kilometer wouldn't hurt. Besides, we didn't want to miss the chance to see another waterfall.
Ya aproximándose la hora de nuestro bus de regreso, mi papá y yo emprendimos el camino hasta la terminal, pero revisando el mapa una vez más, nos dimos cuenta de que nos había faltado ir a un lugar. Se trataba de la Cascada Grande, un salto de agua al final de un sendero de un kilómetro. Con todo lo que habíamos caminado hasta entonces, un kilómetro más no iba a hacernos daño. Además, no queríamos perdernos la oportunidad de ver otra cascada más.

Compared to the small waterfall we'd seen on our morning walk, this one was definitely bigger and prettier. I ventured to dip my toes in, even though the water was freezing cold. But you know how it is with travel: there's always one crazy person who takes a dip anyway, and this was no exception.
En comparación a la pequeña cascada que habíamos visto en nuestro paseo por la mañana, esta cascada definitivamente era algo más grande y más linda también. Me animé a mojarme un poco los pies, aunque el agua estaba helada como para hacer más que eso. Sin embargo, ya saben como son los viajes: siempre hay un loco que igual se echa un chapuzón y acá no fue la excepción.
My dad and I, being textbook tourists, had a great photo session with the waterfall. Up until then, we hadn't been able to visit the Santa Rosa waterfall, just 3 km from where we were staying, but seeing this one was a good substitute. Even though we had walked quite a bit, I was glad to still have the energy to walk a little further and see this waterfall. Luckily, the people around were also respectful and quiet to enjoy the scenery, so at least we were able to relax for a while.
Mi papá y yo, cholulos como siempre, nos hicimos una buena sesión de fotos con la cascada. Hasta el momento, todavía no habíamos podido visitar la cascada de Santa Rosa, a solo 3 km de donde estábamos hospedados, pero ver esta fue un buen reemplazo. A pesar de que habíamos caminado un montón, me alegré por seguir teniendo energía para caminar un poco más y ver este salto de agua. Por suerte, la gente que estaba alrededor también era respetuosa con esto y hacían silencio para disfrutar el paisaje, por lo que por lo menos, un rato pudimos relajarnos.

Our time in La Cumbrecita was memorable: we both had a great day exploring as much as we could. In the last few minutes before leaving, we took the opportunity to buy some gifts for the family, and although we had to rush a bit afterward, we managed to catch our bus back just in time. I was glad to have visited this place again, as my memories of my visit in 2017 weren't very clear. Having a hiking companion was even better, because we were able to see everything and more: it was definitely worth going back 😃.
Nuestro paso por La Cumbrecita fue memorable: ambos pasamos un gran día recorriendo todo lo que pudimos. En los últimos minutos antes de irnos, aprovechamos para comprar algunos regalos para la familia y, aunque después tuvimos que correr un poco, llegamos a tomar nuestro bus de vuelta justo a tiempo. Me alegró haber ido a visitar este lugar una vez más, ya que mis recuerdos de la vez que había ido en 2017 ya no estaban muy claros. Además, tener un acompañante con gusto por la caminata fue mejor, porque pudimos recorrer todo y más: definitivamente valió la pena volver 😃.

I find it hard to believe that this visit to the large waterfall was a last-minute addition, just as you were about to head back. But as you mentioned, a kilometer walk wouldn't have hurt, and it's great that you decided to visit. You took some beautiful photos.

This amazing trip is unique and traditional among the places in the city of Argentina. The magnificent mountains and waterfalls are an interesting time with friends. Along with the unique view of walking through the high and low, the beauty of the mountains and the natural trees are attractive. This beautiful trip makes great company with dear people.
