Old Europeon buildings seeped with history, the feeling that there's a very thin veil that separates us from that era - I know what you mean and can feel your reverence.

I always had the sense of layers and layers, bones upon bones - so many people, over thousands of years - living, loving, fighting, sowing, birthing, dying. It can be quite the feeling sometimes.
