In today's post to your attention I want to present my impressions from my visit to Plovdiv. For a long time my wife and I want to visit this beautiful city and yesterday we did it. We decided to take a day vacation and see the sights. Our road by car was about 140 km and about 1:30 hours. After we arrived we headed to the city center. These are the first photos I took after getting out of the car.
After only 7-8 minutes of slow walking we had already reached the beginning of the most visited place for walking - the main pedestrian street.
At the beginning of the street is the famous old mosque - Jumaya Mosque, built in the 14th century. There was not much time left and I could not visit it from the inside. It is really stealing, it creates a different atmosphere.
Near the old mosque are the remains of an old Roman stadium. The city administration has taken care of its preservation and easy access to the stadium.
We continued our walk along the main street and reached the middle and where the most famous statue here is - the statue of Bai Milcho.
Plovdiv was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2019. I think that since then there is a famous inscription Together Plovdiv, right behind the statue. Next to the inscription there is a beautiful artificial waterfall which gives an even more beautiful look to the place.
After a short stay around the waterfall a few photos and 2 3 selfies we continued the tour of the city center. All old buildings are well maintained and renovated, but it is still the European Capital of Culture and now I understand why. Not long after we reached the square in front of the town hall. Here is this beautiful fountain. There is a lot of vegetation, beautiful flowers and trees everywhere and many monuments.
After the road with the car and the walk we needed recharging before we continued. We sat in a nice cafe to have a refreshing drink. We also had a nice view of the fountain.
I forgot to say that Plovdiv is the sixth oldest city in the world and archeological excavations are found everywhere here. Even now the work continues.
A little further from the place where we drank our coffee is the remarkable old town hall of the city. In the time of the Roman Empire here was the center of the administration of the ancient city. It is beautiful and very well preserved. Enjoy the photos.
It's time to check into the hotel. It's called BLVD7 and is located near the center. In terms of price quality is more than perfect.
Finally, I will say that Plovdiv is a very beautiful city that has preserved both its history and modern appearance. Beautiful buildings, archaeological sites, cleanliness and lots of greenery. I am very pleased with my day vacation here and I would certainly come again at the first opportunity.

Hi @titofit,
Great to see you using the #travelfeed tag! We launched the #travelfeed curated tag more than 3 years ago and have been supporting the best travel blogs on Hive ever since. But did you know that TravelFeed has evolved? Based on the feedback of thousands of Hive travel bloggers we created TravelFeed.io.
TravelFeed.io brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps, automated adding to Pinmapple and more. We also offer many of the features you love on Peakd such as drafts and post scheduling. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!
Unfortunately, focussing on developing the best platform for travelers means that we no longer curate the #travelfeed tag. But, you can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.io to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.
We would love to see you on TravelFeed.io soon :)
