Camping At Lake Wallace Camping Ground

in Pinmapple3 years ago

Hi Everyone,

Our camping trip have ended after 3 days and 2 nights. This new campsite we visited is called Lake Wallace Camping Ground around 2 hours drive from Sydney. We borrowed a pod for the car as the one we ordered during the Boxing Day sale as not arrived yet due to high demands so we were lucky to borrow it from a friend. The weather was clear for the whole weekend compared to last time which was raining for half of the time. Although it is in the middle of summer, the temperature at night would be around 7 degrees so we would be bringing clothes for that temperature drop (unusual temps for summer!)

The camping ground is free of charge and there is no need book ahead of time. There is a limit of stay for 48 hours each time and most people follow those rules. There is a nice lake around the campsite and after circling around the area, we decided to choose one a little further away from the main lake but with a nice view of it as we need to have enough room to put 4 tents. On this trip, we are going with 3 other families with 5 kids in total. Fun times!

We arrived earlier than the other families so we started to set the tent up first. Hubby got to work straight away setting up the tent while I entertained the kids. I did help when we put the final cover on as we want to make sure the sun doesn't get into the tent in the morning so we can sleep in. After 30 minutes or so, our tent is set up. Kids are already getting ready for a snack while the adults are now setting up all the beds and sleep bags before our friends arrive. Everything will be ready when our friends arrive and we will be cooking dinner while they set up their gear. Will be a fun camping trip once again!

Just come back from camping myself. Great to see more posts on camping and the outdoors. That's a huge a tent you got there but looks really nice. So lucky to have suck huge open campsites like that there.

Yah I think COVID have changed alot of who likes to travel and its a nice way to explorer another side of our city/state/country. We had a friend that had a 8 person tent and thought it wasn't enough so just bite the bullet and bought the 10 person tent. That space was perfect for when our friends arrived, best find with a nice water view!

I would love to do camping one of these days too it's too sad it's been raining here in our place. The tent really looks so cool :D

Judging from the glorious sky I'd never say it's 7°C. It's a blast to camp under those conditions, isn't it? Full energy the day after.
