The first day in Pleiku city, Gia Lai Province of Viet Nam.

It took me over 10 days to move around some towns and to deal with some individual businesses. That is why I had an opportunity to walk around Pleiku, a great city in the highland of Viet Nam. Though this city cannot compare to other developed metropolis, Pleiku also owns many extraordinary features that remark it as a typical city in the mountainous region.

The Coffee Shop

Thank for a meeting with my new friend who I have not met before, I have known a countryside coffee shop between a city of concrete.
First of all, about the view of this coffee shop. In front of it are the huge rice paddies. Although I have seen a lot of rice field views before coming this place, this sight also creates an attractive thing to youngsters and tourists. In the distance, there are some mountains and buildings hidden behind the trees.

Because this is the crop time for farmer, some rice fields have been harvested, there are some brown colors in the golden fields of grain.

In order to enjoy this view as well as become a main feature of this coffee shop, the owner set some pair of table and seats for guests.

The only thing I do not feel comfortable here is about the music. I understand that their majority customers is young generation, so they need to supply the appropriate music and services to attract youngsters.

Secondly, beside the view, I have found a corner that would be very silent and suitable for those who are the fan of stillness. I caught a handsome man sitting in a chair and reading the book in that corner. He seemed like do not care anything except his attention to the book, he even did not know that he has been taken a picture by me. After all, I told him about his picture and asked his permission to use this photo in my blog.

Thirdly, the feature impressed me is about the rest-room. They designed it as a wheel on the pirate boat. It reminds me about the court of Johnny Depp with his ex-wife Amber Heard. The rest-room looks quite simple but elegant when they add some decorative plants in the sink.

Before living, I saw the owner picking the avocados on the trees. By my experience in the past, I knew exactly this avocado is the best one of it. I asked him if I could take one to save the seed in order to store it in the garden. Unfortunately, he did not get my idea lol.

Dien Hong park

Before visting 2 famous pagodas in Pleiku, I got lost to a park which I consider it covered the most green space in the city.

Building in 1994, Dien Hong park has become a green heart for residents. In the morning and afternoon each day, a hundred of people coming Dien Hong park to do exercise, go on foot and breathe the fresh air.

In the middle of the park, there is a large lake which has an area of about over 12 hectares. Thank for it, the weather in Dien Hong park is regulated constantly.

There is also a yellow bridge which is used to connect 2 lakesides. The yellow bridge has become an emphasis to let it be famous to anyone visting Pleiku. My friend is a local person but she did not know where this bridge is till I took her to the Dien Hong Park. This is the first time for her to visit Dien Hong Park and the bridge.

In a corner of the right side from the entrance, some children were riding the plastic animal in the big swing. This scene reminds me about my childhood. I always went to the park, asked my mom playing that game. My mom indulged my favor, she held me in the horse seat, then turned it in a clockwise direction. To be honest, this game was the best one I love to play that time, of course not only me, so did my childish friends.

On the left side of the park, there is a communal house standing in front of the yard. Communal house is one of specific houses of Ethnic community. This is a community building which Ethnic people always gather, discuss together. It is also a place to welcome the tourists or guest who visiting their village. The most feature that makes us regconize this house is about the roof, it is quite high as a sail in the sea.

Along the lake, there is also an old beautiful banyan tree. The citizens said this trees has nearly 100 year olds. It gave me a great impressive because of the shape and the trunk.

I ended a day in an optimistic way by saying good bye the park and making a plan for tomorrow. Where will I visit and what will I do for the next day? I will talk in more detail in my next post.
