The last time my wife and I visited Chiang Mai we couldn't find temple Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. This visit, with a little help from the hotel concierge, we were able to hire a Tuk Tuk to the top of the mountain where the Temple is perched. The driver charged roughly 600 Baht (18 USD) to take us to the temple and bring us back. The road to the temple was steep and winding. The trip took about 45 minutes.

Once we arrived we were greeted by by dragons and a never ending path of steps. We snapped a few photos in front of the steps and made our way to the top.

At the top of the mountain we found the Temple and even more Buddhist statues. I didn't go inside the temple because, this isn't my first visit to a Temple in Thailand and I don't feel comfortable taking photos inside. I'm not sure if photography is appropriate. I always imagine tourist coming into my church on Sundays just to take photos. They would probably be welcomed but it would be strange.

There was also an amazing veiw of the city of Chiang Mai. This was the first time I could finally see how high we were perched atop this Mountain. The planes parked at the Chiang Mai airport looked like toy planes from this elevation and distance.

After we took pictures of the view we went back down the steps at shopped at a market outside the temple. They sold food, clothes, statues, traditional Thai uniforms etc.

Overall this was a great day trip if you're ever in the city of Chiang Mai Thailand.

Thank @w-t-fi for sharing. I hope that I can visit Thailand this year. I'm learning the Thai language also. What did you do in Chiang Mai?

I heard a lot about beautiful temples in Thailand, and this one is not an exception. I'm impressed with dragon along the steps. Thanks for sharing! @w-t-fi

It´s been a couple of years since we have been there and it is still beautiful. Thanks for reminding me 😀
