Wasted overflow

I am not sure what statement this display is making, but it is a pile of old wooden chairs and decks that are spilling out of a building under renovation. It is kind of cool as it flows over the edge above the heads of passerbys - let's hope that they are secure.

This is likely to be a short post, because as expected, this particular trip isn't leaving me with much personal time, with the entire day including breakfast, lunch, breaks, post event and then dinner being spent with colleagues. So, this is between the end of the event and getting changed for the dinner event to follow and what I expect, will be a kicking-on to another venue after.

I will try to keep my night short, since first thing tomorrow, my direct tasks begin and I'm a professional....

lols.

The "out of event" events are probably the most important for me, as it is during these times that I get to meet stakeholders that I have worked with but haven't met, or will work with and haven't met face to face. It has been quite a lot of new names and faces, as well as putting old names to digital faces and to be honest, I am struggling.

I am not the best of people with names or faces, but after the stroke, it has become harder again, as I am unable to quickly build memory cues for recall. On top of this, as the day wanes, after hours on end of concentrating, my mental stamina starts to fade quickly.

Because of this, I am stealing a few minutes to write, because as I have said many times before, it allows me to cleanse my mental palette and get back on track - like a meditation. It would be great if everyone wrote more like this in my opinion, rather than try to "present" something directly. At least for me, I find the conversational posts the most informative and engaging, as there is a person behind the writing, rather than a dissertation approach.

Of course, a post doesn't have to be long to add value, but I think that there does have to be some depth in order to not only raise questions, but build a scene for the audience and give them something to bite into. Short-form content might have a lot of creators due to the low barrier for entry, but when it comes to what actually drives behavioral change, short-form tends to be in one ear and out the other, not troubling the cognitive scorers. This could be because it doesn't hold value or, there is such a speed of the content and topic stream that there is no chance to really process before the attention is drawn to the next topic.

I know a lot of people think my posts are TL:DR, but I think that those who do find some value in them, also value having the space to think, but a framework to think upon. As a content creator, it isn't my job (in the post) to answer every question someone might have, it is to build enough interest that they are willing to dive a little bit further and perhaps make a tiny change in personal process for the better. I have written several thousand posts and if half of them inspire a tiny change in half the people who read them, it is likely going to be hundreds of thousands or millions of changes.

What does that add up to?

Well, it is impossible to know, but if anyone really wants to change their lives at a grand scale, they should quickly realize that the "first step" principle applies and all of the small attempts adds to the journey and compound. Looking back at our lives - shouldn't we all be surprised at how far we have come?

Or is it how little we have moved?

Time to go.

Hell indeed, lovely as they might all be individually and in discrete doses.

It is quite intense. I am pretty social, but this tests my limits.

Every little step ads up in the change process. As we chisel away, we make some form of betterment or see more clearly the mess left to do. LOL I appreciate the shorter post.

:D

Funnily, some people still find these too long... and it is over 30% shorter than normal!

I agree with you about sitting down and just writing and not trying to 'present' something. That's exactly how I do it and it came from when I did my daily Rocket Fuel Coffee Morning Rambles. It does the same for my mind and helps focus, like a meditation. I may bring that daily post back in some form or other.
To be honest I think your posts do the same as they feel more like listening to someone talking over a coffee rather than being lectured. More my cup of tea(or coffee really)

I think those daily posts are good and if they are value-adding to others, all the better.

as they feel more like listening to someone talking over a coffee rather than being lectured.

I hope so. I haven't had the chance with many - but I have shared meals, coffees and a few drinks with many people from the community over the years. It isn't possible to do it with everyone, but hopefully, it does "fill the gap" in some way and who knows, perhaps one day I will end up having a coffee with you and others. That would be great!

I’d like that. I am sure we would be exchanging alot of stories

Lots of work trips! Sounds like fun but also exhausting lol it’s good to get time to write between and cleanse the mind a bit!

It is a little crazy and a few days feels like a week at least has passed, but not in a holiday kind of way.

Hope you are well!

Perhaps you won't believe it, but I thought about this today. I asked myself what has changed in 20 years in my life. Indeed, my life has changed a lot, especially in financial.

I believe that your posts help those who consume them. A long post does not mean a quality post or a short post does not mean a poor quality post. It is important what we bring readers.

What we bring to the table matters and in my opinion, a lot of the content is searchable - but when it comes to personal experience, no one has what I have, in the same way that I don't have what you have.

As a content creator, it isn't my job (in the post) to answer every question someone might have, it is to build enough interest that they are willing to dive a little bit further and perhaps make a tiny change in personal process for the better.

I believe no knowledge is lost and any little idea shared will be helpful and meaningful when showing interest in answering the questions you feel is relevant

Do you get value from reading?

Yes it has really helped me a lot in maintaining my consistency here in the blockchain.

Good to hear

every little idea, is as important, because u don't know which one will serve as a change in someone's life,i personal i have Always been fan of your post it Really Inspiring and as a newbie on Hive it has Really enlighten me to things i don't Know Before nw

I get the sense that some of the biggest shifts in our lives, are directed by very small events.

Sometimes a person, although he saw his friend has made a mistake in his life, he doesn't learn from his experience, he also wants to enter the same problem full of pitfalls instead of having a strong start and goals in future, I think it's due to poor education and lack of responsibility

Learn from other's mistakes, because we don't live long enough to make them all ourselves.

I like articles that include real events and experiences that make reader live with them. Realistic images have a great impact on a person's decision.

I agree. I don't want to live through other's lives - but I do want to connect with their experience.
